RE: Pikes Peak in March

GO. There are more nice days in March that there are bad. The road to Pikes Peak will be closed, but many area attractions are open year round. I've done alot of camping around Colorado in some pretty nice weather during that month. March can be iffy at times, but most of the time, it's really nice. You're planning on staying in motels, come on out, you'll have a great time.:)

RE: Parks in Co.

Yep. Stayed at both. Both are nice. Ft Collins KOA was a little pricy I thought. Was $49.00 per night back in Sept. Very easy access to Poudre Canyon on up to Cameron Pass if you want to see some moose. Riverside in Loveland is nice with easy access to Big Thompson Canyon and Estes Park or Rocky Mtn National Park. Boyd Lake State Park is nice but is on the east side of Loveland and will be further away from the sight seeing. Enjoy your trip.:)

RE: Using Propane With Slideouts Closed

When our lab had puppies years ago, I took a cardboard box and installed a (suspended) drop light in it. The puppies stayed plenty warn and did just fine in the middle of winter. We have several cats out in the country and it gets plenty cold here at times. If they get cold, they'll find a warm place to stay. I would consider a small portable plastic kennel with a suspended drop light in it, or some other type of light bulb and believe me, they'll stay warm. Place it under the dining table. A light bulb will not use very much electricity. Good luck.

RE: Using Propane With Slideouts Closed

If you're close to electricity, how about a drop light or a milk house heater? I wouldn't be afraid to use the propane either, but you would then be heating the whole trailer.

RE: Good Sam ERS Works...However

I say BULL, but a good story you wrote. First off, the highway patrol would NEVER let u sit in the road like you say, they would have stopped a semi and had him push you off the road. But it made for dumb reading on a boring night.
Wow. Did someone pi$$ in your cereal?

RE: Colorado: Camping and Fishing

I hestiate to share this but, out of Gunnison up the Taylor River is Taylor Park. Lakeview Campground now has water/elec sites as well as the usual non-hookup sites. Boats can be rented there also. Lots of small high country lakes around the area to fish. The single big draw back (JMHO) is the area has become popular to ORV's (4 wheelers/gator's/etc). Taylor Park Trading Post rents FHU sites as well as cabins if needed.
That was supposed to be a secret. ;) Been going up the Taylor Canyon since I was a kid. Prettist place in the whole state. Darn, I wish people didn't know about it. :(

RE: Land Rover is a Truck

Ok. So is it a 1/2 or a 3/4 ton truck? Can I get this in a long bed or short bed? Better yet, can I get it as a dually?:B

RE: 22 Degrees Tonight!!! What should I do?

Or you could drive up here to Colorado. The low tonight is supposed to be 30 degrees. You should be fine? ;)
Just don't go to Winter Park--their low is supposed to be 1 and Friday's low of -5....
You got that right. My son lived up in Granby for awhile. Brrrrrr:)

RE: Is that all there is????

Thanks for all the replies. I've always found most folks on here to be helpful and informative. I will admit I was trying to stir things up a bit. When I check the forum and I see 8 or 9 pages on one topic such as gate guarding or amazon, it get a little redundant. It's always nice to read something that's new. I've already enjoyed reading all your new posts. Thanks! Maybe I'm getting cabin fever???

Oh I know. It just seems like it's been really quiet lately. Every time I look at this site, all I see is gate guarding and amazon.

I'm beginning to think the only workamping to be found is at Amazon or being a gate guard?

RE: Branson, MO campground recommendations

X2 for Table Rock Lake State Park. We've been going there for the past several years. One of the nicest state parks around. Campground #2 is our favorite, but #1 is nice also.

RE: Oh No!!! I have the drip!!!!

Thanks a bunch guys for all of your comments. I'll let you know what I find out when I go to the Ford garage. Capt Skup, i guess the answer to most of your questions is NO. I changed the oil myself and have never seen any of the issues you're talking about. I did have the Ford garage change the coolant at about 45k miles. Nothing unusual about the oil either. Here awhile back, the engine oil cooler was replaced and the thermostat at the same time. I can only hope it's just a hose issue, but will let you guys know when I find out. Thanks again!

RE: Oh No!!! I have the drip!!!!

Thanks for all the info. Hey DREEDER, when you talk about stats, I'm assuming you're talking about the thermostat? A few months back, the Ford garage did have to replace the thermostat on my truck, so I'm hoping it is just a hose. We'll see. Thanks again.

Oh No!!! I have the drip!!!!

No, not that kind of drip. I went out to the garage the other day, and it looks like I had a couple drops of anti-freeze on the garage floor!:E I crawled under the truck and it looks like it came from the front of the engine block of my 6.4 diesel:M Anyway, I'll have to get over to Ford garage and find out what the deal is??? It's still under warrenty, but I just don't like the idea of this happening.

RE: Does Colorado have non-resident licenses?

While you're here during the months of July and August, why don't you go into the county clerks office in Ft Collins and duscuss this issue in person with the folks there. They will be the ones to determine wheather or not it's possible or not anyway.

RE: .

...and when towing a diesel gets much better mpg so what's your point?
When you're towing, the mileage pretty much sucks whether you have gas or diesel.
