RE: 20003 F250 V-10, spark plug change

I did check with a real good service shop, but all they did is show me some old plugs they had changed, would not give me any quote for the job, dident seem to me that they had much ex. on the job, the Ford dealer I went to is a big one with a good sercice dp. I'm thinking of going there, but will check around first at other dealers to see what they have to say. I thank all for the advice.

20003 F250 V-10, spark plug change

Dealer's quote under $500, motor has 143K, cylemder #4 has some misfire, changing coil had some improvement, but still there, thinking of doing my self but craling all over moter for a couple of days may not be worth the savings. service manager says plugs on the V-1o do not break off, its the longer pluges on smaller V-8's. Any advise.

RE: Water heater bypass trapped water

Yea it happened to me on a new 89 wilderness, set up just like that in photo, poped the pex fitting off heater. After that when blowing air (30LBS) I open bottom valve and blow out, do the same when pumping A-freeze, open valve and give it a short of AF.

The ar Harbor ferry has been shut down the past three years, check it out first. Bar harbor, Arcadia Nat park is to see, also cost of Main, gone both ways through Maine was best for me. NB has a costal ride< I took last year, theough ST. Andrew, then stop @ St. John, road to ST Martin ( stayed ST. Mart for wk. was great) NS, Cape Britan Is. the Best, stayed Bras O dor Lake CG, leave RV, tour Cabot trail all day (maby more, but not on cloudy day, you'l be in them, Louisburg fort (also all day bring jacket 20 deg colder out there) There is so much ro see "All depends on how much time you have" If PEI is on youe schedule we always stay at Red Point Prov. park right on water ( no marinas or condos just beauty and warm beach, found Nat park crouded and Honkey tonk - still nice esp if you are a kid. If you see a Sprinter TT w/Red Sox plate on back beep. -- Good trip Rob

"AL" reading on infread thermometer?

I Have a CEN-TECH infread thermometer from Harbor Freight. All I get for a reading is a quick flash of .3 deg, then a reading "AL" with a pic of a battery showing 1/2 batt left. Put in new battery all stayed the same. Junk it and get a new one? Or is there any cure for it?

RE: winterizing 2010 keystone sprinter tt?

Michel, on my Sprinter (2010) has a bypas valve on water htr. I then take out the big draw just in side the TT door by the sink, there i can reach the pump, I un screw the line from pump and attach a facuet addaptor (got from Home Dp.), the longest one they had. Stick other end of flex. hose in bottle of antifreeze and start pump and run till pink stuf comes out of valves, esp tolet. I should add I blow out the lines with 30 or 40 lbs air first. Then I remove plug from water htr. and take the caps off thoes three lines under TT. One drains fresh water tank, other two drain at low point on lines. From Wallmart or dealer you can get a litle adapter to use to put air in water connection on side of TT. Not that hard to do. Rob

RE: Adding extra signal lights to trailer

On my past two TT's i had LED strips mounted on the side rear about two ft. above bumper, worked good, wireing was through side of TT into storage comp. where wireing to lights was eazy to get at. Got them from JT Whitley cat. I am now using magnet mounts on bumper of my Sprinter, have to run wireing up to toung for wireing connect.

RE: Suggested routes for NB &NS

I just came back to day, from a month trip, could have used more time, spent five days in St Martins alone, in 4 - 5 days you could drive through, and read about where you went after your home.

We left St Martins NB, Sun. real nice place. headed North, away from storm, going over Cabot trail in Morn. Hang around here this wk., then down to Annapolis valley next week, weather looks good. This CG is verry neat & clean.

RE: Home Boilers

I don't think this has anything to do with RV's, But the best and most effecient way to heat hot water for a family home is a modern boiler and a 45 gallon storage tank made of stanless steal, with a nickel/copper coil inside the tank, some have lifetime warranty. The best set up is NOT to have the boiler maintain temp., but to have the WH control to run the burner. These heaters will hold temp for about 7 hrs. when water is not used. The best control set up is to have boiler control stop heating the house and heat HW first. Seven room house used 80 gallons in a month (Feb.) heat @ 68 day 60 night. "Problem" the high cost of oil.

RE: water heater burner backflash

Afriend of mine WH was doing the same thing (a brand new unit) never been run before, had someone try to fix, but couldent. As it started I gave the gas valve some good wacks, it lit and ran perfect and still does. My point a stickey valve? Could that be your problem, may need a new valve. If other gas units are ok that may be the problem.
