RE: Generator Insulation Questions

I used Dynamat in two areas; under the doghouse/engine compartment and in the genny compartment. Both were inprovements in noise reduction. Bought the Dynamat from Summit racing as a underhood kit.

I don't see the issue. You checked in and they didn't have any problem with that. Enjoy your stay.

RE: Best Lubricant for Steps on Class A

For me it's P Blaster, soaks right into the rust and breaks it free. I do this twice a year and never a step problem.

I bought a bag of wooden clothes pins, separated them and used as shims. Cheap and effective.

RE: City water

Sounds like your new check valve is defective. Water pressure from the city is supposed to push the check valve into the open position and hold it there until you shutoff the city water. If you're convinced that city pressure is present and that there is no hose problem (kink)...what else can it be?
Check for debris at the check valve, maybe something came through the hose and is causing a partial blockage.

RE: vinyl flooring split ?!?

I remember reading a post from a year ago with folks asking the same thing. The general consensus had to do with freezing winter temps shrinking the vinyl and since the vinyl runs throughout the TT (under cabinets, walls) the shrinking/tension caused the tear.
Unscientific for sure, but that was the consensus of those involved.

RE: trans temp guage for a Ford F53 ?

kansan,
Can't speak for Eric, but we have similar moho's and I too have gone the Thorley headers. Reason was simple, stock OEM exhaust manifold was leaking and burning up plug wires. The stock manifolds are attached without a gasket, metal to metal, and tend to warp on the passengerside @ the firewall end. Many have experienced this leak and also found their most rearward manifold bolt head snapped off. Since repairs require removal, the favorite option is to install headers. Headers remove a ton of engine generated heat from under the doghouse, and improves off the line throttle response (as measured via seat of your pants). Some claim better gas mileage but I never have seen it.
The Banks resonator is a "flow through" type resonator, no restrictions to flow. This allows for improved engine performance. I still have the OEM resonator in place, so can not comment on the reported performance improvements.
Hope this helps.

RE: Water pump ON .. water shoots out outside source water inlet

No, shooting water out of the inlet is not normal. Take a look inside the inlet coupling, there is a screen, pull it out then you'll see a white (usually white) tip, push on it gently, it is spring loaded. Chances are some debris is preventing the spring from closing the one way valve. Another possibility has to do when you winterized. If you pushed in on this one way valve while it was under pressure to get antifreeze into the line there is a good chance the rubber o ring on the back of the spring loaded plunger was knocked loose. Two quick fixes; buy a blank cap and screw onto inlet or replace the inlet. Both are relatively inexpensive with the cap being the cheapest.

RE: What problem go along with a Tag axle?

I came into the Class A market totally uneducated.I had a price point and wanted a big one. My 1st and only Class A, an Ebay purchase, came with a tag axle. My coach is ancient compared to others, yet what came as standard equipment, I read newer F53 chassis owners adding to improve their drivability/handling. For instance along with the tag axle, my coach has front and rear sway bars, steering stabilizer, rear trac bar and rear air bag suspension. With all these items onboard I've often described my rig as floating/gliding down the highways of America. I've never driven a non tag coach so I have no reference as to the difference but simply put, having the tag axle makes for a very nice riding coach.

RE: Traffic in MA

That's a fair estimate providing no traffic problems. I'd agree to round up to 60 mins. to allow fo a safety margin. While Normandy Farms is an awesome CG, there are decent ones closer to Plymouth.

RE: House batteries not charging

This photo is of my BCC in my Winnebago. It is located under the hood, on the righthand side and mounted in the corner of the firewall and fender. You can see the solenoids under discussion here. Now, your's will look similar but not identical. Each manufacturer has "their" way of doing things. I post this to help you try and identify your BCC. Good luck.

My 97 F53 w/ tag axle has electric brakes. A Tekonsha brake controller is under the left side of my dash. The tag axle components were made by The Jet Co. of Humbolt, IA.

RE: slide creeps out in storage

If HWH, your retract solenoid has a leak, most likely internal if no fluid is obvious @ "T" handle. Replace to repair slide creep.

I used 2 1/2 bottles of Poli-glow on my 37' moho. That's a total of 4 coats, allowing it to dry completely before each successive coat is applied.

RE: Motor Aid on New Winnebago

On my older Winnie, if the engine is running, coolant is circulating through the motoraid system. That is, from radiator to water heater to rear bedroom heater, back to radiator. The only "control" I have is a dash fan switch for bedroom heater. In other words; in the middle of July tooling down the highway my water heater is heating and my bedroom heater is hot. It's all or nothing.
Might be that newer models have a 1/4 turn water valve, or bypass in place somewhere to close off the rear heater option for summer months? I don't know but a call to Winnie might get you some answers

RE: Motor Shield Question

I believe you are talking about the heat shield for the plug wires. Yes, there are shields on both manifolds. My conversion to using headers wouldn't allow the reuse of the heat shields so my plug wires have heat shield boots over each wire. I've been operating this way for 2 years and haven't had a plug wire problem yet. I believe a new set of hi-temp. plug wires, backed up with boot shields will allow for elimination of the OEM shields.
