RE: am going to yellowstone this summer.

We were there on the 4th of July and did not think the traffic was too bad. We also got snowed on(2010). Make sure you go to Cody and check out the Museum, it is very cool.

RE: Forest River Flagstaff Reviews Wanted!

We have a 2010 rear kitchen and really like it. We have only spent about 80/90 nights in it for two years and it seems fine. It is a little classier then some of our friends trailers and they all like it. It is a lite 5th wheel and pulls nice. My DW wants a bigger trailer, you know, King size bed, fire place, 4 slides. But all said we like ours.

RE: Driving in St. Louis

P.S. I only know of Gra-voice and Show-toe and don't know the other one, unless it was spoken to me, maybe. I only lived there 1/2 my live. People do make fun of the way I talk. " you mean there is no R in WASH ":R

RE: Driving in St. Louis

Yep, hit it on the spot. I'm from across the river . A little city called Alton ( All-ton not Al-ton). I liked it when 370 came in, I think the speed limit is 90. I was running 80 and a cop passed me and gave a dirty look like I was slowing down traffic. All aside St. Louis is a cool town and has some really neat places and things to do. I miss a lot of it.

RE: Why you don't look or Larado 329RE

Thanks, we were only wanting to move up to a 32/34 max. The High Country is a lighter trailer than the Montana. We liked the Montana line and had planned on that. The smaller High Country would have worked well with the 250. That was then. Now, we found the 329 RE and are switching gears. The truck will be for towing only but I just don't want a duelly. I have a good friend that buys and sells diesel pick-ups, I'll have him find me a 350/3500.
The Laredo has everything we want, it's just a little longer then we thought we wanted. Right now it looks like our next camper. (do you even call these things campers):)

Why you don't look or Larado 329RE

OK, so we went to the RV store to buy some repair parts for our 28 foot Flagstaff. We love our camper but you know ,we still like to look. So, after finding out they didn't have the parts (go figure), we went looking at the brand new trailers. We have been thinking of moving up to a 32/34 Montana. So we looked at the High Country and liked it, checked on price, said maybe in a year or two. As we were about to leave the salesman showed us the Brand New Laredo 329 RE. It's long and we liked it, very much.
Two problems, 11,00 pounds and 37 foot, 37 foot. The price is right and I've been looking for a new truck. I only wanted to get a 250/2500 diesel.
Next time I think I'll stay home.
Did I say we really liked it.:B
Any good or BAD input will be looked at.
Thanks

RE: Awning Lights

We use Christmas tree/ what ever lights for the sides and some we bought at True Value for outdoor use. Make sure you can take them down in a hurry , if a storm rolls in. We learned the hard way how not to put them up. Now if a wind comes up , I can just pull and down they come. Also look at Home-De-pot for rope light for the ground.
And yes , we are the ones all lite up:B

RE: Sewer hookup question

I think I over do it, I'll fill it up a couple of times with the power flush after the first black tank flush.
One trip, our friends went to flush and the hose popped off, stuff went every were. I went to flush but noticed the locks were turned almost off. I think some one undid our lines and left them loose. Now I always double check the hook up before dumping.
Like someone said earlier, we get more smell from the grey tank and throw a smell packet down the shower drain.
Easter weekend will be our first outing of the year, I'm ready :B

RE: Someone comes knocking at night while stealth camping.

Wow, This thread has me worried what kind of people are out there in R/V land. The OP doesn't want to pay to stay, why not? And the guy with the cargo box with the hidden insides, you need to put "Joe the Plumber" on the side to make it really sneaky. If you have to hide you're sneaky. I worked with a guy who said it isn't stealing if you don't get caught, he got caught. It's not trespassing if you don't get caught, BS.

RE: Backup lights

Lights reflecting on the trailer blind the driver making backing MUCH more difficult.
Good luck / Skip
This is the problem we have with getting to the camp spot at night. When I put it in reverse, the reflection off the white flat camper, makes it hard to back. I have my wife with Walkie/talkies( family radio) back me in.

RE: Estes Park No kids/pets

Thanks, we don't mind kids, I did a search and someone asked about Estes Park and kids. We just don't need things for them to do.
We have been to EP 4 times and like the area but at the time didn't have a camper. All I remember about the R/V parks I saw were gravel parking lots. One on a river would be cool, I'll check it out. We will have two vechiles, so not being in town will be no problem. I like the Big Thompson drive but didn't remember how steep it was.
Thanks again

RE: yellowstone camping

We went in 2010 on the 4th of July, lots to do. We stayed in Cody at the Ponderosa right on the road to the Park. We liked it but we were not going any farther past the park. West Yellowstone, stayed there a few years back, it is OK too. Lots to see in Cody, the museume is a must do if you like western history.

Estes Park No kids/pets

Not that we don't like kids or pets, we just don't have any.
We are looking for a nice R/V park, hopefully not a parking lot.
We have a 30 foot 5th wheel and would like to go to Estes Park. We have been a few times and like it. I flyfish, wife shops. The plan is to go up the Big Thompson Canyon rd.(34) or is 36/66 a better pull?
Also, there will be another couple with us in another vehicle, so we also need a place that is not cramped.
Thanks
( I'm ready to get camping)

RE: Nominate your roughest road

20 Highway in Iowa east of I-35. We took this road this summer and I thought it would never end. It was so washboarded, the fillings in my teeth fell out. We changed our trip home to avoid it .

RE: Toyota Tundra and a 5'ver.

And one more thing... I can pick my hitch up by my self. It's a Reese 1800 with locking jaws. What kind of hitch weighs 200-300 pounds?

RE: Toyota Tundra and a 5'ver.

I hate to do this but, if you do a search, you'll see this Tundra/5th wheel subject has been beaten to death. No matter how great the Tundra is , some will know someone who had one and it wouldn't pull a pop-up. There are people on here who have that set up and it works great. Do what I did , your homework. Not all Tundras are the same. Not all 5th wheels are the same.
We have a ultra-lite that is easy to stop and easy to pull. I have to be careful not to speed, pulling. We get around 10 mpg here in the midwest. It does go lower with speed and steep hills. Last year we spent 48 nights in our camper and this year (not over yet) will be around the same.
As for the WP , I have seen overloaded 3/4 tons alot.
If you want a Tundra, it is a very nice and well built truck. It is U.S.A. made ( unlike my Chevy) and has a lot better numbers then its American counterpart.
Good luck

RE: So, if you were to win the lottery?

Powerball 180 million.
We looked at a Montana we really liked. It had a small garage in the back for my bike. (new bike) And to top it off, we have a 1967 Ford F100. We would have the old truck made into a moderen 1ton but still look like an old 67. The truck is rust and dent free and like new. Then we would just travel around going to small town USA. We like doing that.:B
Oh ya, we would give most of it away
