I got mine online from Tire Rack. They can ship to your installer if you like. LS

RE: TT for offroad travel

We've done quite a bit of off-roading with our Casita (just returned from the factory where we had to have a stabilizer jack and propane tank holder replaced. ;)) It can go anywhere the 4x4 Tahoe can. It's also very sturdy. In four years, we've only popped one rivet. The above damage was due to pilot error. LS

RE: Overwhelmed by Backroads Mapbook -- need advice

Check out GPSFileDepot, they have files for Canada: http://www.gpsfiledepot.com/maps/country/ca They're free. I haven't looked at the Canada files but I use several in my Garmin eTrex Vista for the Western part of the U.S. HTH LS

RE: Our much loved Motormouse passed away while we were in Az.

Kelly, (I'm assuming that Al is driving now) I'm sorry to hear of Cora's passing. But, thanks to you and Al, she had a long and adventurous life. Pat and Nancy

RE: Phoenix to Tuscon

Need a spot near Iron Forest National Monument. Don't really want to pay $25 to stay at state park. Ironwood? If so, it's BLM and they have dispersed camping, I believe. LS

RE: RV Debate: Best Boondocking RV?

It's hard to have an honest opinion since I've only boondocked with a backpack and, now, a Casita TT. I can certainly speak to the Casita's ability to faithfully follow the 4x4 Tahoe everywhere it goes and not fall apart. But, I can't vote for a travel trailer since they are not all as sturdy as a Casita nor do they all have the ground clearance. Perhaps a better question whould be, "Which is the best Class A, Class B, Class C, TT, TH,TC for boondocking?". Just a thought. LS

RE: Bridging the dips

We carry several lengths of 2x4s and 2x6s. We mostly use them for leveling, but they come in handy crossings washouts, etc. I got cocky, though, and decided not to use them once and bent the bumper and broke a stabalizer. If you ask youself if you should use them, then you should use them. Takes no time at all. Remember to put some rocks under them, too. (That's why we have "several" lengths :)) Have fun! LS

RE: I 80 exit 410 boondocking

I saw the Piolt on line, but then saw the welcome center, was thinking the welcome center may be a better place. Lensatic, do you think the casino will allow overnight parking, this was just a stop in at 10pm and leaving early in the am. did not plan to enter the casino. We've done just that before. No problem. But, I prefer to spend something there even if it's just take-out breakfast. Have fun! LS

RE: I 80 exit 410 boondocking

Probably, but, if not, there is a Pilot (I think) Truck Stop, and a casino. The casino will have better security. LS

RE: New Tires For Small TT Heading to Alaska

Not to hijack Michelle's thread, but is there any downside to using Range D instead of Range C on a small trailer? Or is tougher always better?? The only thing I heard about is that you can carry more weight on the load Ds which means you might overload your axle. LS

RE: Boondocking in Cracker Barrel Parking Lot

I just wonder how long it will be until things change and places like Walmart or CB stop allowing overnighters... My wife asked the manager of the Desert Center (I think),CA, Walmart about this. He could not alow overnighting because Walmart was a tenent sharing the property with other businesses and were at the mercy of the landlord. The Walmart south of DIA in Denver is owned by Walmart and, regardless of city ordances, can allow overnighters as long as they don't charge for it. It's their property! But, the manager still has the final say. Another "owned" Walmart location we inquired about does not allow overnighting due to being in a high-crime area and not wanting the liability. This would be true with CB and the others, as well. With most of these companies, it's a marketing decision to allow overnighters...it's a revenue generator. And the baby-boomers are retiring in ever larger numbers and many are RVing. It's all about the Benjamins! ;) LS

RE: Campground Etiquette

She's only 80lbs. We call her our travel size Akita. Our last Akita was also 80 pounds, but she hated the Casita. We don't use the stabilizers and she didn't like the rocking. This guy grew up in the trailer and loves it. But, he's much bigger and weighs about 115 pounds. He also presents a bit of a challenge to my late-night bathroom treks. :) LS

They do wonders for your privacy, don't they? :) http://i1229.photobucket.com/albums/ee465/dupidstick/DSC_8918.jpg Yep. I sleep very well and wake up to plenty of elbow room (outside...not so much inside). Yours seems to fit your rig a bit better, though. ;) LS

RE: Campground Etiquette

Just get several large "Be Ware of Dog" signs and place strategically several yards away from your RV. The bigger the signs, the better. Also, place a very large chain that is very visible near your RV. Might help? Ray The heck with that. We've got the big dog: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v38/Max-EPR/KumoriWash.jpg LS

RE: TT Recommendations

Casita offers a hi-lift option. We added 15" wheels and go to the places you are talking about. It's slightly taller than our Tahoe but we have a CB antennea on the roof for comms and a feeler guage for upper clearance. It's very rugged! LS
