RE: So, What doesn't like peanut butter???

Once the weather turns nice mice will probably move outside to their natural settings.Ahh actually no they don't. Had a mouse get into my camper last summer. For three days I didn't see him, so I thought ok must have moved on. Last night of camping trip found the bugger sitting on top of stove. Went and got two traps and put pb on it and had him the next morning. Weather has nothing to do with mice getting in or not. It's all about a safe haven with a food supply. My only question about this whole thread is how does a squirrel get in a camper. I mean they are much larger than a mouse. You must have a pretty large opening for one to get in. First thing I would be doing is finding out how it got in. That would be a major concern for me.

RE: Price of Fuel is going Down

The closer we get to November, the lower the price will get.
Let me get this straight…
I assume you are saying the price is high to affect the outcome of some event that will happen sometime in November…
But, no matter how hard they try to keep it high, someone or some entity has the ability to force it slowly down and time that reduction to counter act the action of a entire industry…
That is truly amazing… thanks for the enlightenment… :B:B:B That's a fact. Back in the summer of '08, we were paying 4.10 at the most for regular gas on a summer vacation in northern Michigan. By the time our next vacation came around, which was the week of the election, gas down to below 2.00 for regular. So you tell me, who influenced that? That didn't happen in your neck of the woods?

RE: Yes, another mouse thread.

We had one in our camper back in August. Set a couple traps, went back the next day and scored. Nothing like peanut butter on a snap trap, always worked for me. Now that the TT is in storage, I'll still keep two baited traps and will all winter long, even though after seven years I've never had to do that. DW is deathly afraid of mice. Me, they don't bother me, I just don't want them in my house, be it stick and brick or on wheels.

RE: Slobs

Bears Den has it correct - it's the newest generation, "Me, Me, It's all about me and I don't give a darn about anyone else"... Kinda makes you wonder what their home looks like :M ... It turns my stomach!! :M
Les
"The newest generation..."??
I saw such activity in school showers in the 1950s.
I saw similar slobs in military showers in the Navy and Army.
I saw rest rooms in bus stations, railroad stations (and trains), on airplanes, in airports, etc. left messed up by unthinking people, all during the '60s, '70s and '80s.
No, it is nothing new. You may not have been paying attention until recently, but it has always been there, and probably always will be.
"the newest generation..."??? No, sorry, I don't think so. Many of the members of OUR generation don't qualify for any prizes!
Anybody remember the indictment of teenagers written over 2000 years ago by some Greek (IIRC) philosopher? It applied quite well to the teens of ANY era, even in "modern" times!
No, IMO such "slobs" are not new by any stretch of the imagination!I agree, this is exactly the reason why Michigan went to the bottle law back in'78, .10 on every pop/beer bottle and can. People just leaving them or throwing them wherever they pleased. Yes slobs have been around for generations.

RE: Dishonest RV dealership, General RV

I have bought two campers at General RV in Mount Clemens Mi.,as well as others in my family. The buying experience was OK, and the service dept.was the same. My BIL did have a few issues with the service dept, and the prices of their parts and supplies are high. Would I buy from them again? Well lets say I'd look around at a few other dealers, a better deal could be found somewhere else.

RE: Unrequested DVD from Good Sam's Club

Just received mine in the mail yesterday, but didn't open it cause I had to leave for work. I'm glad I read your post because my DW cleaned the counter where our mail usually sits when it comes, so I would have forgotten about it till I read your post. This practice of sending offers in the mail then charging people for it if you don't send it back is quite common. My mortgage company use to send all kinds offers for different types of insurance with the same deal, if they don't here from you they assume you want it and you will be charged. This is how they make extra money off you. I actually forgot about a couple offers and next thing I know I receive my monthly mortgage notice and my payment went up fifty or more dollars. I had to call and cancel policies from each insurance companies, and of course they had to argue with me why I shouldn't cancel. I have to agree this way of doing business is a crock of sh*t. Let them advertise it in Trailer Life or Highway magazine and let people decide then.

RE: Traffic Light Scam

This has nothing to do with the warning about a 'scam' but with the off topic of Red Lights.
I don't get it......
Those things that hang above intersections or are mounted on poles at intersections....you know them traffic lights.
One light is 'green'.......go
One light is 'yellow'.....caution, light changing, prepare to stop
One light is 'red'.......STOP
Been that way long before I started driving.
What is so tough to understand.
When approaching intersection....pay attention to the dang lights.
Some find it hard to do:
Their too busy texting, talking on the cell phone, putting on makeup, reading the paper (yes I"ve seen this), eating a burger, etc, etc, etc. Isn't that the truth. To be honest I know we have traffic cameras at every intersection around. But I don't pay attention to them because my attention is on my driving and approaching condition of intersection, not whether or not I'm going to get a ticket because I'm doing something I shouldn't be doing. Some of these arguments rate right up there with speed trap complaints.

RE: MUST get out on a trip soon!

Normally we go six to seven times a year. DD moved back home from northern Mich so we became full time baby sitters. We have only been out two times, once with grand kids, and what a nightmare that was. To make a long story short there is light at end of the tunnel, in two weeks DD's BF will be here. We now have a much needed seven day trip planned.

RE: Five gas stations owners found guilty of price fixing

I would suggest that all educate themselves on how the price of a gallon of gas is determined. Its simple, they raise the price of gas when they want, because they can. There is no logic.

RE: Disconnect Battery ?

BFL13 I have the same truck as you only mine is a short bed. I have been pulling my TT with this truck for three years now, and never had a problem recharging the battery. But I went back to storage the other day and my battery was comepletly dead. I have a cut off switch that I put on about four years ago on the negative side. Never had a problem charging battery. If I hook up to shore power it charges right up. Battery is three years old. Only thing different that I did was during the winter months it was stored in my garage without any kind of charging. Don't think that would kill a battery in that short of time, least I don't think. Not getting much voltage from TV, the reason I was thinking of changing the receptacle. May just have to measure voltage on my battery next time I go back to pick it up.

Disconnect Battery ?

Changing plug in receptical on TV. Battery on TT recieves very little charge when towing. Should I disconnect negative battery cable on TV to avoid blowing fuses, and to avoid other problems? Somehow I have a feeling I should, what would you do?
