RE: Do you really love your Dog? Good food vs cheap food.

Thanks for the tip. We have been looking for a good food for our kitties and will give their Felidae a try.

RE: Any experience with Cricket Golf Cart

I know someone who bought one new and a year later the paint started coming off. She had to have it repainted and they would not stand behind the faulty paint job.

Dash Cover recommendations please

I need a dash cover for our 2003 Monaco. We had one for our other motorhome from Dash covers by Josie. It was okay, but I want a thicker/sturdier cover. There are a lot of old threads but some sites are no longer available, plus I want current recommendations... I found one at RV Toystore that looks pretty good, but I am not familiar with them. Reputable? good products Any other suggestions? I don't want to make it myself.

RE: Florida Keys in 2013

I hate to say it but we visited both those parks the week after Christmas and there were quite a few vacant sites. I don't know why they always show no available sites but when you go to the cg you find lots of them. We stayed at Sunshine Key and there were plenty of vacant sites.

RE: over night CG around Naples I75

When we go to the Keys we stay at Midway campground in Big Cypress Preserve. It's off highway 41, which we thought was more scenic than 75. The senior pass let us camp for $10 a night.. First come first serve. Electric only. We enjoyed it.

RE: 3 Florida campgrounds help to decide

If you go to the Keys, I would recommend going further than Key Largo. We were at Sunshine Key for two weeks starting Dec 27th. You can check out my blog if you like from that time period. I have lots of pictures of Sunshine Key and the surrounding waters. We did a LOT of kayaking. We loved Sunshine Key because of the location between two fishing bridges. You can walk from the CG to the bridge to watch the sunrise or sunset, or you can fish right off the bridge. We kayaked right from the CG. We loved the Keys so much we're going back the end of March for a month. Next year, we'll wait until AFTER New Years week to go. It was too crowded, but calmed down some after that week.

RE: Florida Keys

We just got back from the Keys recently. There were plenty of gas stations, but very few places to refuel a large diesel motorhome. The only place we found that would work (there may be more, but we didn't notice any) was just past Sunshine Key Resort. You could get a large DP in there. There are no Walmarts though! As far as a 10 year old. At our CG, (Sunshine Key) they had a game room. There are lots of places to bicycle. I'll bet she would enjoy the Everglades. We enjoyed Shark Valley very much. Check out my blog starting the end of December if you want to see lots of pictures of the Keys. We kayaked a lot though.

RE: South Carolina & Georgia coasts in winter

Some may consider it mild, but in my opinion, it's too darn cold unless you get at least as far south as central Florida. I lived just north of Tallahassee for 5 years and nearly froze! Of course that is not near the coast, so it may be a bit warmer near the coast.

RE: Accident far away from home

You'll have trouble finding an attorney unless there were some injuries. They don't want to mess with what they would consider small little property damage claims.

RE: South Carolina

I live an hour from SC in Georgia, some mornings can be in the 20-30's If you want no freezing nights, you need to be in south Georgia North Florida.. Good luck I beg to differ. We lived in south Georgia (just over the Florida border) and we got LOTS of below freezing nights. In fact it frequently got into the low 20s and upper teens.

RE: Florida Keys Camping Suggestions

We were at Sunshine Key for two weeks after Christmas. The weather was perfect, and there were no bugs. Yes, Sunshine Key looks like a big of a parking lot from the road, but there are some very nice waterfront and marina sites. What we loved about it is that we could walk up to the bridge in the morning and watch the sunrise, then fish off that same bridge all day. In the evening we could walk to the bridge on the other side and watch the sunset. We launched our kayaks right from the campground and paddled the perimeter of the island. You can fish right from the bridge which is right there at the campground. It's expensive, as all cg's in the Keys are...unless you get a reservation at a state park. Next year we will wait until after New years week because the crowds got a little better. We LOVED the Keys and are planning a month at the end of March. Sunshine Key has no hot but, but it does have the other activities you requested, including a game room for the kids. You can see pictures on my blog..listed on my profile.
