RE: The one specific suggestion you would make to RV makers...
I would like to see sales brocures with real weights, and the weight that all options add. Then people wouldn't have to guess if thier truck would haul it. Also more areo dynamic trailers for better MPG.

Let me know if you find anyone willing to pay for anything that breaks when you are working on your own trailer. Lifting by the spring perch can be OK, and so can a Trailer-Aid; however, Contact your trailer's manufacturer before doing either.

Most all government parks are doing some belt tighting. In Texas they are raiseing some fees, and asking for contributions to cover other things.

Really you guys don't think that brand new truck breaking down is a problem? Yes GM stood behind it, and I would expect them too. I'm with the OP. Something wasn't right from the begining. Either the part was bad, or wasn't installed correctly. Either shoddy part, or shoddy labor building it.

RE: Over length towing
If you do get caught they may make you change the setup before letting you move on. Better have 2 drivers with you. That would also put a lot of weight on the hitch & reciever of the truck & trailer. Most likely not engineered for the extra weight.

Better stay with an engine that has at least 250 HP, or that will be the decideing factor in how much weight it will pull. The Chevy 350 can be made to tow. Better would be a SB 400 CI.

The brakes should be heard, but still able to make a rotation or two before it stops after a good roll. Remember on the bearings that are a little loose are better than bearings that are too tight.

We paid ours off last month, and are happy to not have a payment onit anymore; however, now we are putting tha money on our sticks & bricks mortgage to pay it off sooner. I can't see us wanting another camper anytime soon.

Some people do a delete of the Particle filter & EGR crap. It voids the warrenty of thier truck, but runs much better. Also gets way better MPG's.
