RE: need some quick tire advice...flat

A couple of thoughts: If you replace 4 tires (replace 4 rear duels) If you go with only 2 tires replaced, put 2 new tires on front & move front tires to rear (taking for granted that the fronts match the current 4 rears and are in good condition) if only replacing 1 tire and your spare matches the other remaining rear duels, put the spare & new tire on the front and move front tires to rear (again taking for granted that the front tires match the rears) I'm concerned about what you have said about the inner rear being over inflated and with the outer tire failing the inner now has been stressed due to overheating and inflation. Any Idea what caused the blowout ? double check the tire pressure on all your tires before you restart your journey.

RE: Mounting front stgabilizer on a class c

What Mfg. ? do you have a part # of the stabilizer ? I was given a unused roadmaster, brackets that came with the kit were for a Chevy based chassis. All I had to do was purchase the "L" bracket to fit my Ford chassis. Did not have to modify any parts of the bumper or chassis. Just went in place of the factory steering dampener but with different brackets.

RE: Ford E450 spring clamps on hoses

What I like about factory stock spring type clamps is the constant pressure they maintain. This is important over the long term when it comes to "cold flow" of rubber. This type of Constant pressure gear clamp is they way to go.

RE: Class C RV Caulking

3M 5200 is a urethane based adhesive Popular in the marine industry. I used it on a Travel trailer years ago. I prefer Pro-Flex RV to seal RV's over 5200.

RE: Pretty much dead in the water, need help badly :(

Several People have already hit suspected areas of cause. My thoughts on checking things out in this order are: 1) Battery state (fully charged ? how old is the battery) 2) bad cables / ground 3) bad solenoid Do you have another good 12 volt battery you can temporarily connect in place of the current house battery to see if the same thing happens ? Do you have a Multi-Meter to check voltages, resistance etc ?

RE: Chassis Battery Recommendation

All batteries last longer if kept fully charged. Consider adding a Trik-L-Start combiner and low charge on the chassis battery will be a thing of the past. Otherwise for superior CCA consider the Sears Platinum. http://www.lslproducts.com/TLSPage.html From the information provided, the Trik-L-Start is a real problem solver! I've looked at the picture of the Trik-L-Start in the link provided. Where do you place the Trik-L-Start monitor panel so you can see the colored indicators? There doesn't appear to be enough wire to place at the battery and run to the house batteries. And if you place the monitor panel midway, where do you put it so you can visually inspect? THANKS! Take a look at this From Winnebago Look at the "P-Series" install. your electrical box I think is in the front compartment (exterior) on the passenger side behind a panel held in place by 2 thumb screws (at least that's where it is on my '06). This is where your relays are located. It's a tight fit and once all buttoned up you won't be able to see the LED's to monitor which state the Trik-L-Start is in.

RE: Chevy 6 L engine in short Class C vs Ford V8 or V10

We compared Ford and Chevy side by side at a dealer. Exact same model. One thing is certain. The legroom in the Chevy is much better (especially for passenger) and I could get out of driver's seat and exit to the coach in Chevy and could not in the Ford without raising leg up and over the seat. So far we have averaged 11mpg at 60mph fully loaded but no toad. Got into a situation with a truck along side me and his lane was ending and had plenty of reserve power to accelerate my way out of trouble. Very happy with the Chevy. I find this difficult to believe based on our experience. I'm 225 lbs a have no problem moving from the driver's seat into the back. My wife is 180 and has no problem going from the co-pilot's seat to the back. In fact, while travelling she does it regularly. Depends on the House builder and changes to seating / doghouse. I'm 6'1" and have no problem easily moving from drivers seat to house. But Winnebago has a different Accessory / Cup holder on the dog house and the seats are also slightly modified but on the factory Ford Base. My son (almost 6'0) when sitting in passenger side has no problems getting to the house, but the leg room is a bit tight.

RE: Chevy 6 L engine in short Class C vs Ford V8 or V10

Which Transmission does the chevy have? I would pick the Ford with The TorqShift Transmission over a 4l80E Chevy and if it has the 4L60E it would not even be a consideration.

RE: Toadless C Owners, Do You Feel Limited?

We went w/o A Toad for about 9 months w/ our C. Coming from travel trailers, we were use to the freedom of a sight seeing vehicle. We like to go places that the MH is not allowed or would get destroyed.

RE: Anyone had Proximal row carpectomy(PRC) surgery ?

Just a follow up. 5 weeks Post surgery, 2 different cast (long then short). Cast removed a few days ago and now in a removable splint. Started Therapy (only 1 session so far). This has been a very painful procedure to say the least, lots of swelling and pain from movement even 5 weeks after surgery. Hard to believe how much my muscles in my arm have shrunk in just a few weeks. Dr says everything looks good and even ahead of schedule, just it could take up to 1 year to regain maximum (80%) strength & flexibility. If it was my other wrist/hand may not be as bad.....still not able to do much with my Dominate hand. Glad I can mostly sit behind a desk @ work and 1 hand type. Got to say looking out at the Motor Home sitting in the driveway is a Bummer. Anyone have any wrist issues.....get it looked at early and don't procrastinate like I did and hopefully you wont have to go thru the same ordeal I am in.

RE: Chassis Battery Question

rvten said, "...I use a Battery Minder to keep my chassis batt. charged when not using it. You can install a batt. cut off switch also. This will keep things from drawing on the chassis batt". QUESTION: what other "things" draw from the chassis battery. Is a battery cut off switch easy to install and what does it cut off? THANKS. Other things that draw power when ignition is turned off: 1) in dash radio 2) some items that might be plugged into the OBDII port (like a ScanGage) 3) alarm system Simple cutoff switch is "In-Line", added between your Negative battery cable & the negative battery post. NAPPA sells simple switches. Perko makes very good marine quality switches. E-Bay, JC Whitney all have ones available. Google Battery cuttoff switch Cutoff switch

RE: Winny 24F question

Here is the NADA reference Just my opinion .....way to much, $ 600.00 for PDI the dealer is padding his profit (which is next to "0" cost on consignment). Make a offer "Out The Door" price (including PDI, Tax, Tag etc.) make them work from YOUR budget and not their profit margin. If I was interested, I would offer 20% BELOW low retail and start from there. Keep in mind to deduct any cost for fixing or replacing items. it is still a buyers market.

RE: Chassis Battery Question

If you keep your MH plugged into 110v when not using / storage, a good product to maintain the Chassis battery is Trickle-Start Sams club Batteries (at least East Of the Mississippi) are now the Maxcell brand manufactured by East Penn / DEKA battery. Cost is about 2/3 the cost of the top of line Sears Diehard Gold series. Your battery being 4 years old normally should still have life in it, but with being discharged a few times where you have had to jump it more than likely has shortened it's life span. Pull the battery & have it bench tested before just replacing it.

RE: Jayco 2000 will not start

I think there is a kill switch up under the passenger side foot well. My understanding is it's there in case of a accident/rollover. I don't have a bench manual to confirm, just remember reading about it a few years ago. ...just throwing it out there.

RE: Dialysis

My wife works for Fresenius, the home clinic the patient is assigned to the Social worker will make arrangements with other clinics to meet your schedule. In South Florida they are setting up Nurses & Social workers to handle just the Home treatment patients. Basically get with the Social Worker @ your Home Clinic to help you out. That's part of their job.
