RE: Wrong Size Tires????

You said that you wouldn't buy a TT without 15" wheels but you didn't look at the wheels on the TT that you bought? I think you bought that TT with 14" wheels, what does the manufacturer have to do with it?

RE: Our first cross country rv trip

Get a campground directory like woodalls or put RV parks in your GPS and then just go. When you don't want to dirve any longer find a campground and stop. Don't over think it.

RE: Ultralite vs. well, not Ultralite!

We have an "Ultra Lite" TT that is over 8000 lb so I think weight is relative. It might be heaver then some heavy TT. Find the trailer that has the quality and the amenities that you want and the find a TV to pull it.

RE: How long is too long? re: length of TT

We also pull a 34 ft TT with an Excursion. We had a 28 ft for 7 or 8 years and then went to a 34 ft, only one time did we find a place that didn't have a site for us because of length.

RE: Is a Half Tonner Enough Today?

I pull an 8500 lb TT with an SUV but a 1/2 ton pickup is still only a 1/2 ton pickup. When you hook up to the trailer you may need to leave the bed empty and leave the dog and the cooler of beer home so there won't be too much weight on the rear axle.

RE: Cross Country Trip Which Route to take?

I would not go 700 miles out of my way just to get 3 overnights "way cheap" at a military installations. Decide what you want to see and go that way.

RE: Buying else where

Forest River says their dealers "take care of their customers and other Forest River customers who are traveling" I don't think many RV's brake down when they are not being used (at home), but more often brake down when you are using them (away from home). We got our last two out of state, the last one 800 miles from home. All the components can be warrantied by an approved RV repair man, you don't need to go to the dealer.

RE: RV Park Superguide?

The OP "asked them twice" to give him an example, if he asks them anything they can and will keep sending him replies.

RE: No Parking Brake

Disc brakes but drum e-brakes. As I remember they cost about $300 to $350 each side if you need the whole set.

RE: break away brakes

Some charge thru a diode only when you apply the brake, some charge with the same wire in the 7 pin that charges your TT battery.
