RE: flojet macerator pumps

I am thinking of getting one and it seems really cool. But my DW does use wet wipes alot and I have two 8 year olds. so I wonder if I should put it off for awhile until I know the kids wont throw stuff in there. thanks for the idea of making my own but I think that is a bit bulky and heavy.

flojet macerator pumps

thinking of getting one of these but i am not sure i like the whole idea of it getting jambed up by something. What do all of you think of it? Any bad experience? Anything better you would suggest? All input is welcomed and appreciated.

RE: Hanging Blueboy on Ladder

I bought a cheap chair/bike rack from camping world for $15 made specifically for the ladder. I stick my blue boy on that and strap it down and it stays that way stored almost all year. never had an issue. I dont care what it looks like its all about functionality for me. I dont want to take up precious space in my truck bed for a toilet that might not be used that trip.

RE: Fifth wheel hitch failure

in my opinion. and i havent been doing this too long but from my vast readings and questions i have given all other 5er owners. it is very rare that the kingpin comes loose because of mechanical failure. I make sure to always look and make sure the bar is secured across the kingpin before lifting the tailgate. I also do a small pull test with my landing legs up about 4 inches off the ground I pull forward about a foot or two. If it falls it falls only 4 inches. I have never had an incident (knock on wood). I have heard of many pinboxes breaking away from the trailer at the welds or bolts. but that is not something you can prevent in my opinion. just do routine inspections and pay attention.

RE: Ceiling-mount LCD TV that folds up.(HD Locker still around?)

I have seen that in my inlaws old prevost and in their new rv. I would recomend calling an rv manufacturer and see where they get theirs from.

RE: Quick question on Pull Tests...

I leave the landing gear an inch off the ground, and remove the chocks, manually set the trailer brakes ,and give it a slight tug. If it comes undone it has an inch to drop. I have no desire to leave anything between the tires when doing this. What he said. I also dont like to leave wheel chocks in. I always, always, and did I say always do a visual check also to make sure the bar on my hitch is in right and that I am not high hitched. sometimes I get going so much I do it two or three times because I forgot I already did it.

RE: Newbie hitching questions ... Please help

all good advise. I just wanted to let you know that when I switched from a TT to a 5er last year. the tow was totally different. no more side to side drag from the trailer or trucks passing you. but the front to back jerking really threw me off the first time. it took me awhile to get used to it. also when you unhitch after you have your landing gear down and trailer weight off your truck. I have to back up just a hair. to releive the pressure on my hitch so I can open it. usually just putting it in gear and taking the foot of the brake does the trick.

RE: Shower

I imagine you could but it would be hard I believe just getting the pieces thru the door.

RE: Modifications

I have done the following. paper towel holder, storage shelves, 3m hooks all over for jackets and hats, added 2 6 volts trojans (expensive), rear bumper cargo carrier, bathroom shower head I switched to the hand held model at camping world big difference on pressure when dry camping, and I have vent covers and a bike rack, and gutter extensions on the to do list. have fun
