RE: I65 from Pensacola to Nashville

No problems on I 40. came that way last week. If you make it that far, try Bean Pot campground at Crossville TN. Very nice, full hookups. PassPort America.

RE: question about tennessee state parks

Ireally hope that Tennessee never goes to a reservation system! With reserve systems, a lot of campsites sit empty all week because all sites are reseved for two days on the weekend. If we are traveling, we will not stay at a park where we cannot stay over the weekend. Also, Tennessee has cut the parks budgets so much that facilites are not being maintained well.

RE: How do you disassemble couch?

Is it a jacknife type or fopdout,or what? Look for screws holding the sides and front to the frame. If it is a jacknife type, the back and seat will have bolts ataching themto the frame. Take them loose and remove.

RE: Poop there it isn't

I have been in a lot of homes, and public restrooms that spell bad. That is why we try to keep ours clean. We also clean up after our dogs. Wish that people would clean up afret themselves and kids as well.

RE: RV Boot Camp for spouse

In our case, after riding with my wife for many years, I had no questions about her ability to drive. Like me, she drove it about a bit and asked questions to start with. After that, it was just a matter of practice. BTY, our daughter is an OTR truck driver and lets us know what all the other RV drivers do to make her life worse.

RE: Where Do I Start

With two large dogs, standard poodle and greyhound, Thay were a major factor in deciding between a trailer or motor home. We really wantede aplace for them to travel without being in a truck cab with us, but would mot even consiter leaving them in a closed, non-AC trailer while we travel. Ours travel in their cloth travel creates, on the bed in the back. They do not like to ride loose, they are more comfortable in their rooms, and we leave their doors unzipped most of the time. After one hard stop, the greyhound slit out of her crate, so we usually zip n ehrm in when moving.

RE: Mosquito aversion

Careful with the bug zappers, and swatters. On our trip last year, she developed a severe case of "fly swatter wrist" from the the wrist action with a fly swatter. Very painful, took a LONK time to heal.

RE: How do ya fix a wobbly, leveled coach?

Look under at the chassis while someone moves around inside. Don't use your fingers, but sii if there is any movement between the chassis and the coach body. You may have some supports that have gone soft over the years.

RE: How do ya fix a wobbly, leveled coach?

Jacks should level and stabilize also. Our Hurricane had the body mounted on shock asorbing mounts, and it also would move when someone walked around. It would also shift a bit when someone mounted the door step. A support under the step helped somewhat.

RE: RV Boot Camp for spouse

In our case, my wife figured that if I could drive it, there was no reason she couldn't, so she did. Learned the same way I did. Got it on a good fourlane highway with little traffic, then coached just a bit from the passenger side (GET IT BACK IN THE MIDDLE!!! NOT SO FAST!!! HOLD IT STEADY!!) Now, I just sit there with my eyes closed masking my terror. My conclusion is that it is lot further down below a bridge from the passenger side than it is from the driver side.

RE: Dish Net. LNB hookup

My dish 500 is a DP+ model, and the switch for the two LNBs is built in. Although it has two connections, either one will work.

RE: How do ya fix a wobbly, leveled coach?

Not familiar with that rig at all, but is it possible the the jacks are mounted to the chassis, and that the coach has suspension mounts or springs between the truck chassis and the coach body?? This would allow the body to move on the chassis somewhat. Just a guess....

RE: Dish Net. LNB hookup

Should work on any of them. Switch should be inside the LNB so it should need only 1 coax to one receiver.

RE: Where Do I Start

Our motorhome is insured on the same policy as our other two cars. It has the lowest premiums of the three. With the kids and dogs, a class C with a toad would be a good way to go. By both used and save a LOT.

RE: Where Do I Start

As you need to purchase a tow vehicle and a trailer, Consider a gently used motor home. You can probably pick one up for about what a new tow truck would cost. with two kids, and the two of you, the built-in bath and kitchen that are available o the road would be a BIG asset. The addition of a toad provides local transportation for sightseeing. Besides, the motor home doesn't use any gas when it is parked and you are not in travel mode.

RE: CB Radio – Peak and Tune

Find and ask a OTR truck driver. They keep their radios peaked and tuned quite well, and know the best places to get it done. I know of one up on I40 and one over a Memphis, both of which are a ways from you. Don't bother asking at a truck stop, but you might find a trucker there that can help. I am sure that there is one over on your Interstate, probably close.
