RE: dishes vs paper plates

We use Corelle all of the time. Very rarely do we use paper. We never use plastic utensils.

RE: Bringing generator across the border

IIRC, provided the generator is made in the US then there's no duty to be paid since NAFTA rules apply. The after 48 hr stay for the $800.00 duty free comes into effect June 1st, until then it's $450.00. I would contact the Canadian Border Services Agency and pose the question them. They'll provide the correct answer.

RE: Steps to dump help

Tell anybody who objects to your rinsing, “thank you for your patience." There is no rule against rinsing. Do what you need to do to properly maintain your rig.
That said, there are very effective ways to rinse super fast. I recommend filling a 5 gallon pail (or two) with fresh water while you're waiting your turn in line. Pull up, drain black until empty, then dump the buckets down the head to flush any remnants. Finish the process with grey as the others advised.
That's what we do and works real well.

RE: Black Hills area

Last summer, we stayed at Big Pine Campground which is located a couple miles west of Custer. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed it. Check out this site for reviews http://www.rvparkreviews.com/regions/South_Dakota/Custer.html

RE: Drawer glides

Have you checked at Home Depot? That's where I bought mine when I modified my tent trailer cabinet with gliding drawers. IIRC, I paid $6 for a set.

RE: Need healthy chicken recipes

This is one of our favourites:
Grilled Bruschetta Chicken
4 small boneless skinless chicken breast halves
¼ cup KRAFT Sun Dried Tomato Vinaigrette Dressing, divided
1 tomato, finely chopped
½ cup KRAFT Shredded Part-Skim Mozzarella Cheese
¼ cup chopped fresh basil
Cover half the grill grate with sheet of heavy-duty foil. Place chicken in large resealable plastic bag. Add 2 Tbsp. dressing; seal bag. Turn bag over several times to evenly coat chicken with dressing. Refrigerate 10 min. Remove chicken from bag; discard bag and dressing.
Place chicken on uncovered side of grill; cover with lid. Grill 6 min. Meanwhile, combine remaining dressing, tomatoes, cheese and basil.
Turn chicken over; place on foil. Top with tomato mixture. Grill, covered, grill 8 min. or until chicken is done (165ºF).

RE: Latest Mess Ups

Roads?
Yes!
Look at the Forum Title....Roads and Routes.
I think that Roads and Routes was the correct heading.....The road of no return and the route of forgetfulness.....:B
Back a few years ago we were camping with our tent trailer, everything put away, raised the jack to hook to the truck, checked the chains, the lights, all was good to go. Started to pull away and heard scrapping and lo and behold I forgot to raise the stabilizers...nothing broken, just my pride was hurt.....lol....

RE: Custer Battlefield , Montana

We stayed at the Grandview RV Park in Hardin twice last year, one night while we were on our way to the Black Hills and 3 nights on our journey home. We really enjoyed our stay there. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the nightly ice cream social was a nicely added touch. Check out the comments on RV Park Reviews http://www.rvparkreviews.com/regions/Montana/Hardin.html
IIRC, the reenactment is on the last weekend of June.
If you have time, check out Pompey's Pillar.

RE: Dishwasher high heat feature

Yep, and that button uses a lot more energy. The "economy" setting on many dishwashers shuts down the water preheating and the drying cycle at the end. We always run the kitchen sink faucet until hot water comes out before we run the dishwasher - that way the dishwasher is using warm water to start (we are usually washing pots and pans at the time anyways in the kitchen sink).

RE: Badlands, SD Area Suggestions?

We were there this past summer for 9 days and stayed at Big Pine campground in Custer SD. Great campground with fantastic people and very nice sites. For those wondering, yes I did do a posting to RVParkreview. To list just a few of the things we did: took the 1880s train out of Hill City, helicopter flight around Mount Rushmore, did the Fort Hays Mount Rushmore tour( 2 Meals, 9 Hour Sightseeing Tour, and a Show) that was definitely worth the price of admission and did a whole slew of day trips. PM me for more details if you want.

RE: Is 10 MPG Good?

It is what it is, just like what has been mentioned before. As far as I'm concerned, as long as everyone had a great time that's what it's all about.
