RE: power awning vs. Manual awning?

Have had both...I prefer the latest generation of adjustable power awnings. That said, I would choose interior choice over awning choice.

Pensylvainia Amish Country Trip Suggestions

I did a search but all the topics about the Amish have to do with camper manufacturing. Anyways, we want to go Amish Country in PA for a week. We have never been there and have no idea where to go to experience it. I'm thinking Lancaster County area. Can someone recommend some campgrounds please? Also maybe some areas we should definitely go to check out. Thank you!

RE: black tank

would a cup of clorox help with black tank smellYes but it will also ruin your gaskets/seals and its a one time fix. it wont solve any issues you may have with your black tank.

RE: SOLD!!!

The two happiest days in any boaters life are (1) the day he buys the boat and (2) the day he sells it! ;) -- Chuck Spoken like someone who has little to no boating experience.:S I've been around boats all my life. I would sell my RV 10 times over before I would consider selling my boat.Nah...sounds about right to me. But congrats to the OP...enjoy!

RE: cleaning holding tanks -how do youi

It sounds like some of you empty your tank completely. This is not good. You should always leave some water in it. Mine sits at home almost full of water. It helps that I have a home dumpstation too. Those Flush Kings work great.

RE: cleaning holding tanks -how do youi

One method that work well is when I'm leaving the campground I fill up about 2/3rds. Then I drop 5 or 6 bags of ice in there just before we leave. Works great and no chemicals needed. Also don't be afraid of using lots of water when flushing. H2O is the best thing for your black tank.

RE: PAYPAL

Always use your credit card or debit card. Do not let them do transfers from your checking account. jmhoYes...at least have a separate checking account from your main one. We were unfortunate(dumb) and found this out the hard way. Ive had Paypal since it started and have done quite of bit of transactions with no problem. A few months ago someone hacked our account and took about $4000 from us. Paypal and Ebay were outstanding and instantly started helping us. They aggressively pursued the thief and within a week I had my money back. We even had fed agents working with us through Paypal.

RE: A word about weight

Wow...talking about a disservice to newbies. This thread should be locked and thrown in the trash. Suggesting that someone exceed their vehicles weight is irresponsible at best and not only puts the operators of the RV in danger it puts others in danger. The op has to realize that most RV'ers are not professional OTR drivers and need all the headroom they can get.

RE: Filling fresh water tank

I basically just fill mine until it starts overflowing out. Not a big deal, it's just water. Some people dont want a full tank but want enough gallonage to last for so long. Knowing how many gallons you have is helpful.

RE: Filling fresh water tank

Too many variables.... Best bet is to get a 5 gal bucket and see how long it takes to fill it. 60s=5 gal min 45s=7.5 30=10 So on....

RE: Fiberglass vs. Aluminum?

I really don't think anyone here chose there rig because it's made of aluminum or filon. Maybe that has some impact on your decision but my bet is floorplan, manufacturer, weight and price had more impact on your chosen digs than how it's skinned. Now maybe there's a manufacturer that let's you choose your skin, I have just never heard of one. For me...the exterior was the least of my concerns. IMO they all suck equally, but us sheep keep buying what there giving us. I always thought a combo of a sandwiched close cell frame with an outer sheath of aluminum would be great. Get rid of the wood. Of course this would probably require us all to buy bigger TV's.

RE: Gnats in the black tank

Drop a few pieces of dry ice in the tank. The Co2 off gassed will kill em. Of course this works well for me because there's a place down the street that sells ice.

RE: Some RV companies really do care!!!

Cool...so the $3400 went in your pocket and you used $1319 of it to pay for the damage? Plus you got a trip out of it....great.
