RE: traveling and fishing licenses

I've fished Idaho, Minn, Wisc., Colorado, Washington, Arizona...each requires a non resident license. Most cost around $50 for annual license...except Washington state where if you bought all the tags required was over $200...fishing, shell fish, etc. It's still cheaper than paying the fine for not having one.

RE: Where Can I find Windows

There are various places where you can strip off parts from damaged rv's...like a U-Wrench It place. I know there is one in Elkhart Ind, Joplin, Mo and Phoenix AZ. Usually lots cheaper stripping things out of a wrecked unit.

RE: Can you explain this to me?

I think it's a free dry camping site (no water, elec or sewer) if you fill up with fuel. Don't seem like much of a bargain as there are muliple places to pull over and just spend the night for free

RE: New to RVing! Did we get a good set up?

As long as you stay in areas where you don't have mountains to climb or go down you should be ok. You'l find out how underpowered you'll be climbing steep grades and I'm sure the engine isn't fuel injected to altitude will decrease your pulling power. Then there is the parking trick. Not all campgrounds have pull through...some places you refuel are terrible and if you can't back up that's a problem too. Plan on unhooking the trailer from time to time in order to park...practice backing and parking the trailer with the motorhome...good luck

RE: Resume??

Just as in any job application, they want something that applies to camping or people experience. Good attributes like working well with others, Team player, flexible to help as needed. Years camping or related experience. On the other hand, they want to know any phyisical problems, handicaps or things that you can't or will not do. Like cleaning bathrooms, cooking, housekeeping must be told upfront if you hate doing that

RE: Do any workcampers us popups or Aliners?

AS a workamper, your camper is the primary residence. Cutting corners and going too small will take it's toll over time. Having a bathroom, large kitchen, bedroom and lots of storage is the main reason for a larger unit. Maybe for the short term but like us who have been full time/workamping over 6 years...the space and storage is needed.

RE: Work Camping Question

We have been workamping for 6 years, full time and never had a detailed background investigation. They have called previous campgrounds where we worked to see what type of people we are. This is not a high security position and I myself would say "Thanks but no thanks" I don't want all the information about me floating all over" Too many positions/jobs out there that only want to know what type of person you are....team player, friendly personality and flexible to jump in when needed.

RE: KOA campsite in Apache Junction, AZ

Stayed there also...has lots of extra charges...$5 per dog, sewer, 50 amp...they go out and check what your rig is listed as far as amps...they will not let you reduce down from 50 amp to 30 amp. So you have to pay the 50 amp price if your rig is rated as such. extra person over two charge, no for sale signs anywhere...be sure and read all the rules....sites are flat and sites share power boxes, one faces east, the next site faces west, next east, next west, so on. Check out time is 11 am and they will come around and tell you to hurry up if you're running late.

I have two Dutch ovens and enjoy cooking outside with them. Many places sell Dutch oven cookbooks...Cabella's, Bass Pro, Bookstores. Cabella's & Bass Pro have a CD showing you how to use, season and use your cast iron cookware.....

RE: 5TH WHEEL SIZE CAMPING

WOW!!! YOU KNOW ALL CAPS MEANS YOU'RE SHOUTUNG!!!!
I wouldn't go with anything less than a 34' fifth wheel and 3-4 slides. 36' works out reaal well when it comes to living space. Otherwise it's like you're in a submarine and stepping over eachother.

RE: Hey Pit Bull Owners!!!

We've worked several campgrounds where we've had to refuse people from staying at the campground because they own a dangerous breed of dog. We know there are good and bad but rules are rules and have to be enforced...many times it was the insurance company who dictated the liability aspect so we had to turn people away....also we've had to charge $5 per dog at some campgrounds because some people never pick up poop and the extra fee covered cost of going around picking up poop.

We have been setting up our dish in Mesa Regal for 5 years now. No restrictions at all...majority of units have some sort of dish...ground, roof, tripod, etc.

RE: Towing additional trailer

Check with your insurance to see if they will insure a dbl tow unit. The towed trailer must have it's own brake system also...19 states do not allow dbl towing and as mantioned, 65'is usually max length. I don't think it's safe but many will tell you they've been dbl towing for years....many never wear a seat belt also but sooner or later they have a wreck and they wish they did.

RE: F 150 Ford

If you are in Missouri, don't forget you have to get bigger plates. The plates have to cover total weight of truck and trailer...they come in 6,000...12,000....18,000, etc. We have been outside Mo state parks and DOT was checking RV's coming out of the park on Sunday, portable scales and seeing if plates matched the load.

RE: Rottweilers

Yes, mainly corporate campgrounds like KOA & Yogi Bear parks. I think their insurance mandates it as we've also seen restrictions at small private campgrounds....Rots, Dobermans, PitBulls are the big three but have seen others also. Then we've seen an additional $5 per dog per day fee added to your bill. Mainly campgrounds where people don't pick up poop so they charge everyone an extra fee for a pick up service. But they also charge additional fee for more than 2 people, 50 amp fee, sewer fee, WiFi fee, more than one vehicle fee and visitor fee...goes on and on....always ask before you reserve a spot
