RE: 2006 Vue - which fuse to pull to tow?

In the underhood fuse box it should be the big yellow fuse (30 amp) with the letters IGN stamped on top of it. It will be a real bear to pull out.

RE: MH - Propane Tank Sticker (Ontario)

Don't mean to hi-jack this thread but it seems finding propane in Ontario for motorhomes is a real challenge. Since the Sunrise disaster TSSA over-reacted and regulated the majority of the small distributors out of business. Here I am in a city of 130000 people with no where to get propane.

RE: Good news for Canucks

It's a concentrated super powerful cleaner/degreaser that will clean just about anything. I first became aware of it on this forum a couple of years ago when help was being sought to remove black streaks. I picked some up in the U.S and can attest to it's effectiveness, but until now haven't seen it up here in the great white north. You have to be very careful to dilute it, however.

Good news for Canucks

Was patrolling the local Dollar General store yesterday and spotted that magic stuff known as Awesome for sale. Finally someone up here has seen the light.

RE: Al's RV Service Supply - Yuma

I went into Al's to get a replacement drain plug for my Atwood water heater. One of the clerks tried his darndest to sell me an anode rod. I explained to him that anode rods never go into Atwood tanks. His reply was "OK, you know best" and disappeared into the back room. I mentioned this to the guy behind the parts counter who seemed to be in charge who agreed with me, and said he would educate his employees.
Be very careful shopping at Al's.

RE: De-winterize trip prep while still cold - tips?

Hatman has the right Idea. We loaded 4 gallon jugs for flushing and to make coffee if we overnight at camp walleyworld. The only difference is for the black and gray tanks plus all the P-traps I use winshield washer fluid. Its a buck fifty and the pink stuff is $5. Thats 2 gallons of push water!!!
Please, please, please do not use windshield washer antifreeze in the plumbing systems of your RV. Chances are when you get to dumping your tanks you will be in a campground that uses a septic system. Windshield washer antifreeze contains alcohol which is a solvent. Solvents are death to septic systems. Have some consideration for campground owners.

RE: first Class A, considering length of coach, help!

I would love to get a 40' DP and move up from my 31' Class C. However where I live anything that weighs over 24,000 lbs requires me to upgrade my driver's licence, which means driver training, tests, medicals etc. and at my age (75) it ain't worth the hassle. I don't know what the requirements are where you live but this is something you will need to consider.

RE: importing Bigfoot motorhome from US to Canada

It is my understanding that an additional requirement for importation to Canada is that the importer must provide documentation from the manufacturer that there are no outstanding recalls on the unit being imported. As Bigfoot is no longer in business there is no way this documentation can be provided. This is why Bigfoot MHs can not be imported from US to Canada.

RE: What did you do to your Class C MH today???

Not a happy camper. Yesterday I went to the storage lot intending to exercise the genny, discovered the lock on the entry door was busted and my brand new 26" LCDHD TV was gone. All the drawers and cabinets had been tossed but as far as I can see nothing else was taken. They didn't take the remote for the TV. Had a quick check around the lot and none of the other 30 or so RV's were hit, curious, I wondered why they picked on me.
Oh well, at least I got to run the genny for an hour or so waiting for the police to show up. Now to do battle with insurance company.
Repairing the lock/door will be MUCH more expensive than replacing a 26" TV (~$250?).
It was close. The TV I bought in July cost me $220 at Walmart. The entry door lock (Trimark 60-650) cost me $170 at the local RV stealership. Twice the price as same thing in US, however couldn't wait to have it shipped as my RV was unlocked. Struck out with insurance as my deductable is $300.

RE: Winter Cover

I have recently purchased a winter cover. I am concerned that it may freeze to the roof of the motorhome and when i want to leave in February will turn into a major issue.
That's exactly what happened to me. My plan was to leave and go south after Christmas but it was no go. The MH had about 6 or 8 inches of snow on the roof and the cover was frozen solid to the roof (which is rubber) and all efforts to free it up didn't work. The only thing that would have helped was a week or so with temps well above freezing both day and night and in this area in January that ain't going to happen. No more covers for this guy.

RE: New 2012 Honda CRV Towable?? YES

That picture of the front end tells me major surgery will be required to put a base plate on it.
I disagree. Looks like the baseplate will go right through without much surgery at all. Picture below:

You may be right. The picture in the link you provided is clearer than the earlier link. Great looking car, can't wait to have a look at the real thing, (and the owner's manual as well).

RE: Windshield Antifreeze??

Here's some food for thought. What happens when it comes time to de-winterize? Where is all this windshield washer anti-freeze going to go when the holding tanks are emptied? If it's done at a campground which uses septic tanks there's going to be trouble ahead. Enough of this stuff will kill a septic system. Big sewage processing plants won't experience any trouble I suppose, but nevertheless using windshield washer anti-freeze is irresponsible.
I'm sticking with the pink stuff.

RE: Question for Owners of 04-07 Saturn Vue

Thanks to all for your input. The Goodrich Long Trails seem to be the favourite on the Saturn forum as well. Now to start shopping.

Question for Owners of 04-07 Saturn Vue

The second set of tires on my 06 Vue are nearing the end of the life and am looking for replacements. The Vue came with Bridgestone Duellers, 235/60R17, and the original owner replaced them with the same thing. These tires are universally hated by Vue owners on a Saturn forum that I frequent, although I have had no issues with them other than the fact they are starting to generate a lot of road noise.
Having said all that I thought I would look for some feedback from RVers with this series of Vue. What kind of tires do you have and pros and cons etc.
Thanks in advance.

RE: Ontario Fleetwood and Coleman service

Give these places a call.
Not in Toronto but not too far away.
www.hughesrv.com
They advertise that they will service any type of RV including pop-ups.
www.mcphails.on.ca
They sell pop-ups though not Coleman. They do have a couple of used Colemans so I would think they know something about them.
Good luck.

Maybe you need to top up the blinker fluid.
Sorry about that. Seriously, though, are all the lights on the MH working, with or without the toad attached?
