RE: Water Heater PM

Hi Jack,
Just don't open the faucet when you fill the hot water tank. That will leave *lots* of air space at the top.
Don, I'm confused with your above statement. It seems to me, that after draining the HW htr, and restalling the drain plug, that when refilling the hot water circuit and HW htr, you would want to vent off the air in the system by opening a hot water valve. By not venting the air out of the system the HW htr when energized would be trying to heat up a dry tank and possibly do major damage.
Maybe you could explain why it's beneficial not to bleed the air out. Thanks.

Convert landing gear from 1 motor drive to 2 motor

Has anyone changed out thier 5th whl landing gear drive from a 1 motor drive to a 2 motor drive? One motor for each landing gear leg. My single motor for both legs, slips when it is extended way out. I want to lessed the load/torque at the motor gear box by removing the cross bar drive, and have a motor gear box at each leg. Any thoughts or pointers you might like to share would be appreciated.

Things to see & do near Joe Wheeler State Park, AL

The wife and I are intending to spend about a week at Joe Wheeler State Park, near Rogersville, Alabama. Would like to hear about any nearby sites that you've enjoyed seeing in that area, north AL. Will appreciate any recommendations. Thanks, JT

RE: How many miles per day can I drive?

I try to plan on about 300 to 350 miles a day, with lunch and potty stops included, and reaching our next CG by 4 PM. I normally have the cruise conrol set for 58 mph. It make for a more relaxing trip not to rush so much.

RE: Where to camp near Columbus Oh?

We stayed 3 days at Alum Creek State Park and enjoyed it there. Only gripe: a) Could not make advance reservations; 2) No sewer or water hook-up at site. Potable water supply was in near vicinity though.

RE: Glucosamine - How Many use it and see positive results

My dauchund will be 17 in Jan, and we have been giving her glucosamin daily for the past 5 yrs now. The breed is ultimately prone to spine/joint problems, but so far she seems fairly limber. DW, dog & I all take it, and we believe it has helped our joints. We get the glucosamin for dogs through the internet vet supply houses.

RE: What to do with fresh water system b/t trips?

I guess it just depends on your trip frequency. As for us, I take water jugs for drinking purposes, and use the FW tank for all other uses. If I expect to make another trip within say 3 months, I'll leave the water in the existing system. If my trip frequency is longer than than that, then I'll drain & re-fill, but not usually flush.

RE: Around Lake Superior

I suggest you check some of the campgrounds that you intend to stop over at, and verify that they will be open for business for your trip. Some of the CG's may close for the season or shut down their water service to camp sites. We had this problem in early May when we went around Lake Superior.

RE: Diesel Owners, I have a question

First off, I pull my 5ver with a 2500 Duramax diesel, and I like the way the truck handles the load and road conditions when towing. But, in my opinion, if your 1500 truck is sufficient to meet your TT needs safely, don't spend the additional cost for a diesel. Consider the future. Do you see yourself eventually upgrading to a larger, more heavy trailer? If yes, then I'd go ahead and get the diesel now before the gov't forces so many pollution controls on the diesels, that they becomes much less dependable and costly to operate.
