RE: Vent blew off the camper while we were sleeping.

While you're replacing your vent add in a Maxx-Air vent cover. Probably should add to all your vents. I have them there so I can have the vents open no matter what the weather is. Good luck.

RE: No Battery Power

The problem is fixed. It was a popped circuit breaker. Once we got to the campground my friends checked the battery voltage and it was fine. We called the RV dealer and he told us where to find the circuit breaker. We pushed the button and I had power. Sure glad it was a simple fix.
Might be a good idea to try and find the cause of the tripped breaker.Yes; it would be a good idea. But, the dealer was messing with the system and left some components on. In trying to solve the problem, we did all the appropriate stuff - mentioned in earlier posts by folks.
BUT, there are two circut breakers in a place we never thought of (circled in blue):

The dealer walked one of the guys through the trouble shooting process. I don't believe any of us would've figured that the problem was in this particular box.
For at least the 2006 and 2007 Bounders (this photo is not from Golden Girl's MH - but looks identical), this panel is in front of the entry door and just above the propane tank. This is where the chasis and MH electronics are blended.

RE: Towing capacity on gas Ford chassis

Sometimes, there's a sticker on the hitch itself. What does your owner's manual say? What does the brochure for that year/model say?

RE: rv resort Hemet

I've been there many times. Facilities and buildings are excellent. Some of the sites are hard to get into - kinda short or narrow. However, you can ask for a larger site. If you're there with a group, you'll get the group pull through sites.

RE: If my wife sees this I'm a dead man...

I'd simply sit and talk to her. You might try talking about the hazzards of carrying a lot of stuff and do chat about all the work loading, unloading and reloading. Just think of all the time and work that can be devoted to other things if the rig is loaded and ready to roll all the time!
Sorry Dr Phil there is no limit to my wifes energy as long as I'm doing the work.
The unloading & reloading is my responsibility under her supervision. This is beautiful! :B Such insight and truth is rarely this sharp! :B

RE: CG in L.A area

I'm staring at Google maps. Assuming you meant LA Whiskey-a-go-go in Hollywood and San Gabriel, CA, they are about 20 miles apart.
I've camped all over LA and don't see anything I'm familiar with in that area. There are some campgrounds that I would recommend, tho.
Assuming that your granddaughter is performing at night, I can recommend the East Shore RV Park in San Dimas. Make sure you ask for a campsite overlooking the Puddingstone Reservoir on the C-ring or the B-ring. Check out their web site. I say at night because you don't want to be driving west in the morning. In the afternoon and evening it would be okay as everyone is going east. This would apply to trying to get to Hollywood in the evening. During the day, San Gabriel is much closer and shouldn't be a problem to reach. That's my best recommendation.
If you want to be more adventurous, I would recommend Dockweiler RV Park which is a county park on the beach. It would be a more challenging drive to your granddaugher's venues, but could be an interesting place to stay. I don't know the duration of your stay. The weekends are probably pretty well booked up by now. The mid-weeks should be available.
Good luck. Let us know your choices and results. :)

RE: Tire pressure monitoring systems

I've had my Pressure Pro TPMS for 6 years. Since I just had the tires replaced at 6 years old, I went and bought new tire pressure sensors. The sensors are only supposed to last 3 - 4 years, so I think I done good.
Over the last two years, the sensors have been troublesome in heavy rain and have also occasionally gave a low battery alert. So, time to replace.

RE: Toad tongue weight

IT's what he/they said: the weight of the tow bar. Camping World says my Falcon 2 tow bar weights 63 pounds. Some of that is on the base plates that are installed on the towd. So, maybe 50# on the hitch receiver.
All the weight of the towd is on its four wheels unless you have a dolly of some type.

RE: winnebago entrance door lock

Has anyone had a problem with their Winnebago entrance door lock? We are about to install a 3rd one! The coach is a 2005 model. Winnebago just apologized for our inconvenience. :-(Here's a link to a thread with discussions of door problems and photos of parts and work done. Here.

RE: Window Screens

I don't know about different. My impression is that they are nylon. My standard home window screens are nylon. But, I live down by the beach where nylon screens are normal -- the salt air makes metal screens a waste of time.

RE: Fleetwood Expedition or Discovery

In the Fleetwood pecking order, top to bottom: Providence, Discovery and Expedition.
And Bounder Diesel. Bounders and Expys are the same coach except Expys come standard with FBP which is an option on the Bounder. If you order a Bounder with the same equipment that comes standard on an Expy, they price out exactly the same.Yes, if you find a Bounder diesel. They're not making them right now.
