RE: Kwikee Electric Step

I've had to have my controller replaced twice in the last six years. It cost $300, installed, each time.

RE: 2nd side door?

Some coaches also have driver's doors. I haven't noticed a diesel with one, but there are gassers.

RE: Rant about forum etiquette

Some OPs are just put off by the amount of off-topic comments a simple question can generate. ;) don't mean they should be, but they probably are.

RE: WELDEX Rear Vision Camera

Jerry,
Which model #'s did you order for your Bounder and what was the cost? It looks like my Excursion monitor.
Thanks for your help.
Weldex WDRV-7041M-UPGD Weldex 7" Color Monitor with One Input for Stationary Camera. Kit includes WDRV-7041M 7" Monitor and WDRV-7CRTLCD Mounting bracket for attaching to the old CRT bracket. Be sure to discuss the bracket; I ended up havn't to order it separately.

RE: Need camping chairs.

COSTCO.
When they have them, they have nice, very durable, camping chairs with tray with cup holder. Much less expensive than Amazon. $19 - $25.
I usually buy a few more than I need; they always come in handy.

Hmmm. I wouldn't have seen it at all if it hadn't have popped up with a new posting. Somebody must've deleted their entry; shame I didn't quote the one I was responding to.

RE: Are there Cls-A manufacturers to avoid

I think most manufacturers have quality problems. I'd recommend finding a used RV that's 3-4 years old. Most, if not all, of the original manufacturing problems should solved by the first owner in the first 18 months.
I always check out Fleetwood and Winebaggo RVs online and at dealers. To me, this is like GM and Ford. Each has several tiers of motorhome in features and costs. There are higher features/cost manufacturers and lower ones.
Always check the coach you're buying thoroughly. If checking out a used one, see if you can figure out why it's being resold, particularly if it's 13 - 18 months old.

RE: Vent blew off the camper while we were sleeping.

While you're replacing your vent add in a Maxx-Air vent cover. Probably should add to all your vents. I have them there so I can have the vents open no matter what the weather is. Good luck.

RE: No Battery Power

The problem is fixed. It was a popped circuit breaker. Once we got to the campground my friends checked the battery voltage and it was fine. We called the RV dealer and he told us where to find the circuit breaker. We pushed the button and I had power. Sure glad it was a simple fix.
Might be a good idea to try and find the cause of the tripped breaker.Yes; it would be a good idea. But, the dealer was messing with the system and left some components on. In trying to solve the problem, we did all the appropriate stuff - mentioned in earlier posts by folks.
BUT, there are two circut breakers in a place we never thought of (circled in blue):
http://homepage.mac.com/jerry_keller/C/DSC01008x.jpg
The dealer walked one of the guys through the trouble shooting process. I don't believe any of us would've figured that the problem was in this particular box.
For at least the 2006 and 2007 Bounders (this photo is not from Golden Girl's MH - but looks identical), this panel is in front of the entry door and just above the propane tank. This is where the chasis and MH electronics are blended.

RE: Towing capacity on gas Ford chassis

Sometimes, there's a sticker on the hitch itself. What does your owner's manual say? What does the brochure for that year/model say?

RE: rv resort Hemet

I've been there many times. Facilities and buildings are excellent. Some of the sites are hard to get into - kinda short or narrow. However, you can ask for a larger site. If you're there with a group, you'll get the group pull through sites.
