RE: 50amp RV useing 30amp at camp ground.

3750 watts is the max consumption without heating the wires. List your electrical items. Go online (or see the nameplate on the item) and get the aproximate electrical wattage used.-then go a bit under 3750.

RE: leaking gas tank

Get the fluid level in the tank below the leak. Go to a marine supply store (West Marine) and buy Marine Tex- se sandpaper to rough up the spot (don't create a spark)once rough and clean mix up the epoxy and place patch. Allow to cure and you should be good to go after 1/2 hour work and a out 20 bucks

RE: Strange looking wiring socket ? or connector

Just my humble opinion. :-) get someone who is knowledgeable with electricity. And they can see the Moho and answer your questions and do the work. If you have no experience it easily could go very bad.

RE: Just because there has been a leak....

Been there done that 90 Winnie chieftain fiberglass roof and now 96 HR Endeavor with alum roof. At a minimum I would get the coach pressure tested by pressurizing the interior and coating ALL seams and joints on the outside with soapy water, bubbles will form if there is a leak. Two rules to follow. You smell musty you got mold, you got mold smell you got a leak. Second, you get what you inspect not what you expect. Look at all past repair documentation and know your limitations.

RE: Weep Holes

No problem if you lay a towel across the frame on the inside to prevent blowing stuff into the coach

RE: A different way to deal with foggy dual panes?

So why not go to Florida for a vacation and visit Hudson Florida, where Suncoast Designers is located. They have 30+ sites and will remove the windows, seperate the frames and split the glass. They run the glass through a cleaning machine and the cleaned glass is delivered to a clean room where they are inspected and if a replacement is required it is swapped out. Next they install a new seal and super dehydrated air. (No pressureized gasses lessens the chance of failure. The assembly goes through an oven and comes out and are reinstalled in the frames then the windows back in your coach.
Now the cost, 250 for the drivers window and 200 for each of the rest. We also had a few panes replaced at 25 each.
Now the best part 1250 for all of our windows with a 5 year warranty, prorated 20% per year. So take a vacation. Dont forget if splitting the glass they are tempered, and be sure if doing a sliding operable window that the glass pannels are as close to each other as possible and spacer away so that the seals function and keep out the wind noise and water. Use spacers that wont rot as the tracks where they will go are part of the window weep system and water is frequently there... Also assure that you dont cover the weeps.
JMHO,,,,,Been there done that We boughrt a used 96 unit with fogged windows at a GREAT price cause they didnt know what to do. Also if buying a window from the manufacturer it may have been on the shelf as long as the ones in your coach,,,,So how long till another failure?

RE: DP Airbrake Question

Look in the front and if you have air horns follow the tubing to a small manifold. remove one of the plugs and insert fittings to allow you to air up the coach. Thats the rout I would take and then you can move it enough to install two new batteries.
Just my two cents

RE: towing 2008 Saturn Vue AWD

I just bought a 09 vue and the manual states the redline AWD is not four down towable. The XR and XE are. Check the owners manual before you do it

You could need the manual pump if you ever run into a bad batch of fuel and things go from bad to worse on the road. JMHO

RE: Rain leaking in Bounder

When water testing with a hose ALWAYS start low and stay in one spot for 30 minutes then rise up and hold for 30 minutes ect. then you will know when you find the leak. IF you progress up too fast you cant be sure as it may take a while to wet or soak in to produce a leak you can see inside. JMHO

RE: Add baseplate, towbar, wiring, brake system to auto policy?

I would assume that if an issue came up, the insurance company would know that the car was being towed and that since attached to the towed it would be covered by either the towed insurance or the RV insurance. And if an accident damaged the tow bar parts attached to the towed while driving around in the towed being attached it would be covered.

Keep the roof clean and seal oxidized paint on the roof and streaks should not be an issue.

RE: Too Old ?

Age is not the measure, If you are a safe driver, sound mind, legally licensed why is an age the identifier.
Just be sure you (or anyone in this quandry) are honest with yourself. Nobody wants you to be in a wreck and nobody wants to join you in one.
