RE: Help, can't get rear axle back in!

The end that you inserted may need to be lifted up slightly to hit the hole.
Hold and brace one hand on the bottom of the flange and with other hand, pull back to raise the splined end up a bit. May have turn axle a little to get the splines to line up.
Once it is lined up and started, should slide right in.
This has been my experience with Class 8 trucks.

RE: Pick 'em up truck bed cover opinions...please

You can see my sig. that I have a cap with 1 entry point.
Also, have the bed slide (google) mounted inside.
Use large plastic containers that stack up.
Bed slide slides out the back. Hardly ever have to crawl inside.
Bed slide doesn't work with trailer hooked up.....

RE: 2-3 days in Western South Dakota....suggestions please

In Rapid City, there is a Bear Park (don't remember the name). YOu drive thru it and then you walk over to the bear cub area. This is the best part. The cubs are playing around and chasing each other. Ok, it doesn't sound like much. The Bear cubs are fun to watch! Of course they have a large gift store!!!!
There is a steam train that runs from Hill City to Keystone and back. If you want to "chase" the train, there are lots of places to view between the two towns. The train runs slow and easy to keep up with.

RE: Leaving home for long time

Use timers in different rooms with lamps. Looks like someone is there.
Put a 3x5 card on front door, saying,
"Day Sleeper. Please do not disturb. Thank You."
Maybe, neighbor can park in driveway.
Empty, Ice maker and turn off. With defrost cycling, cubes can turn to "solid" ice.

RE: Busy day, mods completed.

I want to go out and use all the new mods!
Well, They do need testing and that requires recycling the systems several times. Do give them a little rest so as not to overheat anything.

RE: How do you mount grab handle?

I myself, would not mess with the walls.
I'm sure you are familiar with the setup that attaches where the commode seat mounts and comes around the side of the commode to provide armrest to push up from. If that system doesn't fit, I would look at building something similar that is floor mounted to use it to push up from. I'm thinking, you can count on the foor for solid bracing for an aid to get up and not the walls.
Maybe, others will jump in soon.
I hope you find something that will work!

RE: Co.Rt. 550. Durango to Ridgeway ??

If you stay in Silverton, there is the Alpine Loop. It's about 85 miles long. Not sure about riding 4 wheelers thru Lake City.... You could to Engineer Pass, turn around and go to the other one...or not.
Popular place, people around. For vehicle access, you need 4 wheel and high clearance. 4 Wheelers are perfect. Take rain gear & warm clothes. Last August, it was raining and sleeting on Engineer Pass the day we went thru.
You can find maps on the internet for Alpine Loop.
Also, I think there is access from Ouray to Engineer Pass.
Have Fun!!

RE: Electric Tongue Jacks - How do I know What Diameter to Buy?

I recently purchased a 2012 Shadow Cruiser TT Model S285RLS. It has a tongue weight rating of 660 lbs. I want to change to an Electric Tongue Jack, but am confused on how to measure and select the correct diameter tubes (inner and outer). This RV is made by Cruiser RV. Can anyone help? Thank you in advance.
Removing it and measure is the bestest and surest, way. Get it right.
Electric jack is an excellent upgrade! You will be glad you did!

RE: signature pic question

The "trick" is to crop the picture first. For example, remove most of the lawn and some of the sky from the original picture you used for your signature picture. Then reduce the height to 100 pixels.

RE: Foil Insulation for Windows

For high outside temps, I cut mine to cover outside window frame and used Industrial velcro to attach to the outside window frames. The window frames can radiat heat to the inside.
Also, if you have big windows, you may have to tape pieces together. I used the Refletix brand tape.
I also, have refletix cut for inside window frames for traveling. Snug fit, just sits in there. Trailer does not get as hot inside.

RE: Blackout curtains for looooong AK days?

Cut refectix to fit inside windows, tight/snug.
Use velcro to attach on door and skylight.
Stores away easy.
Also, has some insulation benefits.
