RE: AE 8500 Awning Spec.

I had my fabric replaced on my 8500, I can't remember exactly what I paid but it was under $500 installed. I even changed the color, I didn't care for the Blue... I now have Sand as the color.

RE: Another bleeping tires question

Thank you for the input guys... I was kinda shying from the LTX given some bad comments I had seen about premature wearout... But I guess it warrants a second glance given the XPS are not M+S... I don't drive in snow, but I find myself in gravel and rain often... My #1 priority is safety of my family.
Thanks

Another bleeping tires question

It's time to replace my Toyo Backcountry's... I started off by quoting out Goodyear Silent Armors and Michelin LTX M/S (I can't find anyone in my area that carries the M/S2 BTW)... But I read in another thread that the Michelin XPS Ribs really make a difference.... I know the Rib is a steel wall commercial tire... but given I am already over weight.. will the much heavier tire really benefit me?
Are the XPS Ribs really worth a grand more for 7 tires over the LTX or Silent Armors?

RE: headers for 2002 ford v10

I have the Banks kit. The increase in power was noticable, gas milage... maybe a little but it definately does not make up for the cost of the products. If you need more torque yes, fuel econ no....

RE: Trac-Vision

The A5 can be used with Dish Network or Bell HDTV services... But with DirecTV it will only receive KU-Band so it will not get DirecTV HDTV only Standard Definition DirecTV programming.
You can download the user and Install manuals from the KVH website HERE.

RE: From experience: Cooper or Kumho?

I have Toyo's and they have been great. It's time to replace them now, and at tax time I will put another set of Toyo's on.

RE: TOW DOLLY W/CLASS C

I tow a Hyundai Elantra on my roadmaster dolly behind my already over weight 32' Class C E450 and I have no sway issues. YMMV, but if you do see more sway while towing you can upgrade sway bars, shocks, or add airbags, etc.... I have bags and they helped with ride quality while towing.

RE: Who has Skid "Training Wheels"?

I have skid wheels that the previous owner istalled. They are attached to the hitch in the same fashion as the ones EMD360 posted photos of, however they are nowhere as large as the ones on EMD's rig.

RE: Cab Privacy Curtain, Inside or Outside?

I have both. But I prefer to use the outside windshield shade instead. I only use the curtain when doing an overnighter.

RE: Tow Dolly/Toad Electrical Load

I plug mine into the dealer installed 7 pin. My brakes, signals, all ok. I even have a 4 pin pigtail coming off my dolly's harness for magnetic lights.
Your milage may very but it works for me.
Having said that, I did have to invest in a Heavy Duty flasher relay because my turn signals raced after I started using the magnetic base lights. But I attribute that to them being commercial LED towing lights.

RE: Did you rent before you bought?

Did you rent a MH before you bought? If you did how did it influence your final decision? If you did not, do you regret it or feel you would of made the same decisions?Yes and No.... The Make a Wish Foundation rented us a Class C to drive to Disney World (Fort Wilderness). Since my Daughter can not fly, or be in a sitting position too long, the Motorhome was very accommodating to our situation. Working bathroom, chairs, bed, and room to spread out, while moving. It was the first time I had ever seen a smile on all three kids and my wife at the same time. When we got back from our 2 week excursion in the 32 foot Class C, I made it my mission in life to buy one of our own. It took me 2 years, but I did. And yes I bought the same size. I have a 32 footer.

RE: Would battery gases make the CCI detector go off?

Sounds like a battery backup situation. Depends on how you feel about requiring a backup power source.
Mine gets power from the house battery system. You could loose the DC input from your power converter and go strictly to the house DC system.... but realistically either source should be supplying power regardless if your on shoreline?? I think?
It's basically a redundant power supply, but knowing what you just said... do not tie the two power leads together. You could buy a two wire like mine, but only use one of the source leads.
But to be safe, you really should call the number I provided and ask their technical support people about this.

RE: Would battery gases make the CCI detector go off?

Here are the pics I promised. Mine is a 2 wire. Taking a guess at your three wire system, is it perhaps the Propane and Carbon Monoxide combo model? If so there is a direct drop in replacement model for that as well.

RE: Safe T Plus stabilizer...is this right?

I have the roadmaster steering stabilizer, it feels alot like you described, like a stretchy feeling. Like the other guy, I was able to drive the same rig without the stabilizer, and it may feel weird to you when you hit a pothole or rut, but you do get used to it... to answer your question more directly, yes, prior to adding the stabilizer the steering wheel would yank hard to the left or right hitting a rut or drop-off. The product works as advertised, again it just takes a bit to get used to.

RE: Would battery gases make the CCI detector go off?

Exportman, if you could give me a few days I can recheck the wiring harness for you. When I installed it I just hacked the harness off the CCI and soldered in onto the new unit. My MH is at the dealer getting a door installed, but I should have it back this week.
The Model # I posted should work, as it is the model listed as a direct replacement for CCI, but Saftlert does make several other models. If you want to be certain, I would call Safetalert and give them the current CCI model ID, and have them verify it for you. 1-800-383-0269 http://www.mtiindustries.com/

RE: New entry door

I got to see my MH yesterday with the door in. I didn't pick it up yet as I am having a gas strut door stop added to the door, but heck it really looks good. The window area is more than double the size of what was there and the new style door latch operates so smoothly. Not having to slam the door to close it was also pretty cool.
Pictures forthcoming.
