RE: Atlanta to Colorado

If you plan on taking HWY 24 from Limon to Colorado Springs there is a bridge being replaced east of Colorado Springs but the bypass is no problem to negotiate and there is no problem with delays.
Any idea how long before the bridge is completed? We travel from Oklahoma to Gunnison a couple times a year and this is the route we take. Any problem with the by-pass in a 36' mh towing a Wrangler?
Wagonmaster2
Signs are saying completion in July, the bypass is large enough to handle MH's with toads and 5ers as well as semis. The bridge is the old green bridge just west of Peyton, the one with the rumored jail cell in the foundation.

RE: Towing 2011 Ford Edge

Since I started this discussion I'll add an update. I bought the Edge and am in the process of getting a tow bar base plate installed. A word of caution if you plan to buy a 2011 Edge for towing you should avoid one equipped with the "BLIS" feature which is a blind spot covering radar. I was lucky, mine doesn't have it (I don't like too much technoligy). The problem is that the base plate in the normal location won't fit because of BLIS parts in the way. I only looked at two manufacturers. Demco offers one for non-BLIS which puts the tow bar connectors about 18" from the ground (a good match for most mh's). Blue Ox just offers a base plate with no mention of BLIS so it's good for BLIS and non-BLIS Edges. They managed that by relocating tow bar connectors higher in the grill---MUCH HIGHER! The result is tow bar connectors 27" from the ground. Since you don't want the towed vehicle connections higher than the mh reciever you would have to find a 10 or 11" receiver lift. Lots of luck, you might find one but it would be ugly and probably still unsafe because of the torque from a lift kit lever trying to twist the mh reciever.
Glad I happen to come across this post. We have a 2010 Edge that I was looking into flat towing, figured I would get the Blue Ox set up, but after reading this I should consider the Demco for height reasons. Great info here on this site.
We tow an 09 Edge with the Blue OX and have had no height issues. We installed a 3" drop and the height is even.
