RE: What was your Occupation??????

15 years concert lighting, and 15 years technical sales of power quality products for Telecom industry.
Got lucky when the private company I worked for was recently sold and my gift/bonus shares that I received over the years suddenly where worth something and I had to dig them out of the closet. Was able to trade in the TT and buy a present for the family.
We always loved getting away and over the years we went from tent to pop-up to TT and then a used gasser MH. Some day I envision full timeing and getting a DP.
Dreams....

RE: Need advice on used coach

I would try to drive a similar chassis/wheel/engine combo to compare. Perhaps this one has just been rode hard and put away wet too often. Be patient and drive a bunch and find the best chassis/interior/performace combo you and your family like. Good luck!

RE: One of the many benefits of having MH

Thanks everyone...sounds like a lot of use have had similar good experiences with hospitals, and have had many great reasons to use RV's other than just vacations. I love the homework space idea... When an important game or special is on I have hid out in there for peace...also when my wife and daughter had a girl scout sleepover, me and the boys hung out in the RV. Luckily we can park ours in the side yard so we have quick access.
By the way, I was not trying to say a MH is better than a 5er or TT, I suppose all would have worked well in this as long as you had a Genny for power as this parking lot was without...and it was cold and the furnace was on a lot.
Another thought...I am glad I had topped the Propane off before winterizing it.
For the one asking, it was Sacred Heart Childrens Hospital in Spokane WA. They were great all around.
Broken back was not broken spine for the other comment...she burst fractured L5 and fractured L2 and L4, but did not damage the spine or nerve bundles that are around that region. If so I do not think 3 months in a brace would repair that. We were very fortunate and she was a real trouper, never complaining. All the kids did great and were very supportive, even with christmas crammed into that little room.

One of the many benefits of having MH

Two days before Christmas my daughter was in a bad Ski accident (broken back) and spent 6 days in a childrens hospital about an hour from home. We got permission from the hospital to park our Class A in a parking lot at the hospital so the family could be near Ruthy and visit all day and the wife and boys slept in RV at night while I stayed with Ruthy. If it was not for the RV we would have been shuttling back and forth home or perhaps to a hotel. The hospital was great about it, and the security people on site kept an eye on things and the family while I was in the hospital room...too cool. Just another one of those times when the RV made life better for all of us....love my MH. The best part is that my daughter will be fine after a few months in a back brace.

RE: Winterizing (Air- Anti Freeze or Both)

Drain all the lines and Hot H2O tank, blow em out (very thourough about it) and add pink stuff to traps. Fairly cold up here in North Idaho, with no problems in last two rigs. I dislike the pink stuff in the water lines.

RE: Kwikke Step Won't Run

Almost sounds like what the one poster mentioned, a dead spot. Perhaps removing things turned the motor to a fresh spot on the motor. Great to have successful days! If it does it more often, you might have to clean the armature or have the motor rebuilt/replaced.

Norcold error code - flashes six times

The book only described 1-4 flashes...I was stumped. No cooling on electric or gas. I Googled it and read a bunch, but after a spell I found what I elieve to be a heat sensor in the flue that had a reset button in between the two wires. Mine is a 2008 Norcold model N611.
That makes two gremlins fixed today....the other was no water out any hot water tap. Check valve on output of HWH was the issue there.

No output from any hot water tap

I had no output from any hot water tap, no water at all. Found a check valve on the output of my Atwood Hot Water Heater had failed. Had to get at it from behind, through a small access vent under the fridge....not too difficult.

RE: Ford V10 chassis - Checking fault codes

They loan code readers at most auto parts stores, at least the Shucks/O'Reillys near my house does. Pretty simple to operate.. Good luck.

RE: Class A with Bunk House

We purchased a Winnebago Vista 32K with bunks. We also moved up from a TT and are so very happy. Ours was a used 2008 model and in 2009 it was under $75K. I'd imagine you could find a used one now in 50-60 range.
Good luck with your search!
