RE: White smoke exhaust cold start 2006 PSD. Liquid in exhaust.

I'm going to add some injector cleaner to the gas today even though I am pretty sure that is not the problem. By using the letters "PSD" I am assuming you have a Power Stroke Diesel. If I am correct, then your problem may be the fuel you are using. You stated you are going to add injector cleaner to the gas. You really should be putting diesel fuel in that truck!

RE: Alternate to carrying guns while RVing

Most of this post is a direct quote from www.snopes.com without providing proper credit, However, what is left out of the post from snopes is the cautions against using the spray as a defensive weapon. Read the whole article and cautions here: http://www.snopes.com/crime/prevent/waspspray.asp Sorry I didn't make it a clicky.

RE: Never Lube Bearigs

The Dexter Nev-R-Lube bearings are rated for 100,000 miles or 10 years. Sounds like yours are not ready for replacement. Dexter warranty Dexter's warranty says 100K or 5 years Warranty is different from expected service life!

RE: Temperature that will damage TT

Hi allShould I quickly throw some antifreeze in, or do you guys think these temps will do damage to my RV?? Here is what I think: Any temperature below freezing can cause pipes to freeze. The time duration and temperatures you are quoting will most certainly cause frozen water pipes and probably damaged water lines.

RE: To Marcus

In the past, I was not a fan of Camping World, as it symbolized a company growing without controls and concern for its customer. However, I must admit that I have been in a few stores very recently and the staff seem very attentive and helpful. Now with the very top management actively involved, easily accessible, and willing to communicate directly with the customer, Camping World is becoming a corporation that other businesses would be wise to emulate. Marcus is a very wise businessman to be conducting himself and his business in the manner he is. He and Camping World will be very successful.

RE: propride or lack of (Disapointed)

Maybe Propride, a start up company, is having cash flow, manufacturing, or other problems. Hensley has always produced whatever they said they would do. Sometimes its best to stick with the originals.

RE: Air Conditioner Help.

Also look at the power converter for your RV, often there is a 30 amp and 15 amp breaker. The converter changes 120 volts to 12 volts, and since the air conditioner runs on 120 volts only, the converter has nothing to do with the problem.

RE: Suggestions requested re: end of life for my 5th wheel

According to your profile, all the mechanicals were redone in Spring 2008. Has everything failed in just 4 years?

RE: Ideas to get dog to stop digging under fence & out of yard?

I bet that dog is bored and has found a way to relieve his boredom. You didn't say the breed, but many dogs need to be "gainfully employed" or they will find their own job to do. Are your dogs just lawn ornaments to you left out in the yard to entertain themselves and you just go feed them? Remember a tired dog is a happy dog!

RE: Hensley Brake Controller Problem, something's fishy.

The new replacement unit drains my TV battery dead. This has happened 2x. I called Hensley and they mentioned that a few of their customers were complaining about the same problem and that the controller, even when the TV is turned off- drained from the battery the equivalent power of what a car stereo would pull. Question: Is this normal? Since Hensley said it happens, apparently it is normal! I have used their brake controller for a number of years and am completely satisfied. It performs better than any other! It drain my battery when my truck sat for an extended period. However, all controllers will draw some current more than others. try the new one they are sending and if it continues to drain your battery, then you have two choices, (1.) use another controller, or (2.) start your vehicle enough to keep the battery charged.

RE: actually a part-timer question...

Regarding the water, just turn it off at the street...no need to drain everything unless you will be gone during freezing temps and no heat in the house. Regarding the insurance issue, that question should be asked of your agent. Gone on an extended vacation may not initiate the clause about vacant property.

RE: just picked up a 2006 open road pilgrim 349Rl3S5 need help

Any microwave will work. Just find one that fits the hole, and secure it with angle brackets secure to the microwave and Rv cabinet.

RE: Diesel or Gas, why is this a big thing for me?

My husband keeps looking at Diesel pushers, and I have no idea why but in my little head I have this fear of not being able to find Diesel as easily when I am in some major out of the way area of Canada or some place in the US. Am I being a silly woman? By the way I can take it so bring it on. I don't want to count out a good Motorhome just because I have this road block where diesel is concerned. I/We keep seeing more and more Diesel Pushers traded in, that just adds to my worries, why so many being traded in? Most diesel pushers will have at least a 100 gallon fuel tank, some even 150 gallons. Most diesel pushers will get about 8 miles per gallon, so one should be able to travel 800+ miles before needing fuel. You should have no problem finding diesel in 800 miles! As to your second question, why are so many diesel pushers being traded in? Why are so many 5th wheels being traded in? Why are so many Class C's being traded in? Each used RV has its own story...bought bigger, bought smaller, wanted different floor plan, wanted newer, no longer could afford payments, the list goes on. Since you brought up the silly woman topic, your concern about diesel fuel is not being a silly woman. It just comes from not being familiar with diesel. Now, the second question, well..........

RE: Convincing my father in law - Dangerous towing.

Without reading through all the responses, I will add my 2 cents. Let him do whatever he wants; you obviously have no control over what he tows, how he tows it, etc. Let that go. He does what he does. You do have control over your kids. If they want to take YOUR kids camping, fine. You will deliver the kids to their campsite and pick up. The kids are not allowed to ride while towing. If he violates your rule, then he cannot have the kids at all except under supervised visitation.

RE: Camping World NEVER again (denver)

Mike I can do that. it will also show they charged me $75.00 to install a black tank flush ! maybe i'm wrong but to drill 1 small hole in a black tank is no big job. That job probably took 45 minutes to one hour. At a rate of $100 per hour, which is what you will find almost anywhere, you were charged appropriately. If it is such an easy job, why didn't you do it yourself? I am thinking the poster is overly critical.
