RE: THE HEAVY DUTY F150 HAS ARRIVED - First report ...

Nice looking truck. I'm with OP in that I HATE all of the chrome and cheap cosmetics that many higher end trucks now have. I have a 2008 FX4 that is Black, Black and more Black. In fact I added a black cap shell and it's really black.
I know it's personal preference, but the one thing I don't like about the OPs truck is the stock steel wheels. A nice set of wheels on that truck would take a tough looking truck and really add some attitude. Now with that said if the OP is like me he'll just live with them. I have a set of 20 inch wheels that I really don't think much of as I like the 18s better but I got such a great deal on the truck that I've simply lived with them.

Suggestions for a newbie

I've been mostly lurking for the last year or so. Growing up my folks had a truck camper and we had a bunch of fun with it. I'd like to get something but don't want to spend much. Right now I see three options as my truck is a 2008 F-150 with the 9,000 tow package.
Option one is to find a class C for under $10,000. This would require waiting a bit longer while I save for it. My concern with this is I'd prefer to find something in decent shape with a V-10. I'm starting to see some in this range so suspect that in the next year or so it might be ok. If I do this, I'd also like to get an enclosed trailer to tow my Harley but the cost of the trailer isn't included in my budget.
Option two is to get a small toy hauler. The problem with this is that the ones I like that have front beds and don't look and feel like cargo trailers are too expensive and not many used ones are in my sub $10,000 budget.
Option three is to get a travel trailer for less than my $10,000 budget sooner. Use it until I can afford one of the other options. My concern with this is would a trailer in the $5,000 range hold it's value and be easy to resell in a couple of years.
Anyway, I'd love to hear what folks think. Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

RE: Tundra towing an inferno sst 29fsl

Come on you guys, haven't any of you seen this commercial ??? :B
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ln0KY7PQKrk&feature=related
I thought you were going to have a link to the guy claiming his Tundra could do the work of a 3/4 ton and was proud that he didn't break an axle. This coming from the company that used to advertise they had a larger rear end gear when they didn't. Ford slammed them by countering with "The Truth About Trucks" and showed the gears were the same. Frankly, I'd love to see Toyota get a bunch of damaged trucks come back and have some scum bag lawyer win a class action case against them because ads. (but I know it won't happen)
Frankly, I don't care what anyone has, but I see few trucks other than GM or Fords towing. And I really don't like it when folks overload their trucks. I have an F-150 and with my options am good for 9,000 lbs. Frankly, I'd never push it that far and as anyone who knows about towing, I make sure my tongue weight, trailer weight, and contents of the truck are all well under my limits.
