RE: Finally Pulled The Plug

Congratulations on your retirement. I just am curious how you are getting the wife to agree to this arrangement. My wife would have told me to not bother coming back. I have been retired since 1977 and have loved every minute of it. We finally reached the age when we had to hang up the RVing part of traveling, and now camp in the Holiday Inns and other places along the way. Enjoy it..

RE: If you could have one car back

the car I most would like to have now was a 1936 Ford Convertible, 4 door. What a car it would be today. My next car was a 1940 Ford, Standard, 2 door sedan. Either one would be a classic..

RE: Anyone suffering CRS

I am finding that finding things are not what they use to be, lol, stopped in on a cousin for tea and in the twenty minute time it took for the tea and me to get on my way again, I misplaced my keys and glasses, go figure, took as much time to find the items as it did for the cup of tea.
CRS
Can't Remember Stuff :h
Am I alone with this lol.
Did you check what was in the tea???

RE: locked out of Suburban

My factory code is on a label on the fire wall way up behind the radio. You have to stand on your head under the dash or remove the radio. My truck is a 2006. Just three years older then yours. So maybe yours might be up there too. Good luck. :B
One more thing. I'm sure your dealer could run your VIN number and get the code that way too. Not sure but it doesn't cost anything to ask.
Don't bet the farm on that. I bought a used Ford truck (03) and asked the dealer it they could tell me what the code was. Sure, they said, it will cost you $75.00. I said, no thanks, and late found the number of the previous owner. He remembered it. I later found that it was on the control module.

RE: Time to get out the lawnmower?

I just finished blowing all the leaves in a section and mulching them, also got the weeds and some grass that had not been killed. Looks like an early spring here.

RE: Retirement

I retired from the USN in 1977 after 32 years. I then worked at a civilian job for 4 years and then retired completely. One benefit of working after retirement is that you always know in the back of your head that you can leave at any time and still survive. The job I had involved local city and county government as well as state and federal. What a mess. I have enjoyed my retirement and hope that you do well in yours..

RE: Daylight Saving Time begins March 11, why

Move to AZ. Most of the State doesn't put up with the DST nonsense.
Yes, but it sure throws it out of kilter with the rest of the country. My son lives in Phoenix and we are always getting the time wrong when we call him. It is a real big deal( LOL ):B

RE: Sold my trailer and TT

Getting along in age and wife getting to the point she did not want to travel any more in the trailer
Well, maybe if you'd have let her ride in the TV with you this could have been delayed for years. Gotta give credit to ridin' around in a TT with no A/C, that's a tough lady.
That's a good thought. I thought all these years that she liked it back there. After all, that's where all the goodies were.

RE: Sold my trailer and TT

We're also without a camper now, and I went through severe withdrawals for the first few months. I'd still like to have another one, but the craving is fading a little. Our next one (if we get another one) will be a small, go anywhere type TT, such as an A-liner or one of the Flagstaff hardsided pop ups. I want NOTHING to do with canvas! I don't want a gas sucking truck again (never thought I'd say this!), and I've really gotten to like my smaller Toyota RAV-4 (with tow package, just in case!).
You don't have to leave the forum, just b/c you're w/out a TT! I still enjoy it, even w/out a camper!
I know what you mean about the withdrawal symptoms. When we went out this morning, I looked for my Excursion and for a moment, thought someone had stolen it. I am with you. I don't want another gas hog. Am looking for a mid size pickup now. Just something to pull my boat with, and like you said, perhaps a small one. Thanks to all for your best wished. I will still be lucking around.

Sold my trailer and TT

The time in my life finally came. Getting along in age and wife getting to the point she did not want to travel any more in the trailer. I have been pondering over this moment for quiet a while now and finally bit the bullet. I have enjoyed chatting and occasionally offering a bit of advice on this forum and will still be lucking around. One bright spot is that a real nice family bought the rig and I know they will enjoy it as much as I have. Good Luck to you all..

RE: sad state of affairs.

Its bad for sure. My brother was at a red light in his truck with a pickup camper. A young blonde girl walked up, took off her shirt and started washing his windshield. Meanwhile, her accomplice snuck into the camper and rifled through the drawers. After he figured out what happened, he drove back there and they got him again!! He came back the next day but they were gone.
Why was he running with his doors unlocked? (I'm guessing this is bit of tongue and cheek here, but still, that leaves me scratching my head).
I can tell anytime someone's stepping up to the back door, the truck bounces a little from the levering action of the 48" extension that the main step is on.
Yes. but think what he was watching!!!!!. I bet his mind was not on a bouncing truck.
