Poor Tech and service

Had trouble with our Winegard satellite dish and took it to the Camping World in Denton, TX. The tech who looked at it, made us feel like we were stupid and didn't know how to hook up our DirectTV box. It doesn't need to be hooked up to run the dish up. We were getting a message on Winegard box "NO LBN VOLTAGE". He went up on roof and, not sure what he did, but got it to lock into all 3 satellites. We went back to campground, same message "NO LBN VOLTAGE". Took it back the next day, another tech. looked at it, replaced the box and transformer. He was also up on roof and it locked into satellite while there. Stopped in Oklahoma City for lunch, ran the dish up, "NO LBN VOLTAGE" took it to Camping World in Oklahoma City and the tech worked on it for 4 hours. Told us we needed a new LBN cable. They said they would order it from Winegard and we asked to have it sent to our daughter in Cedar Rapids. I asked the gal at the service counter if they would like to make a copy of our sale receipt for when we bought the dish (it was still under warranty). She told me no she would just write down the information. I gave her address where to have it sent and all other information. Next day she called me and said she needed me to fax her the receipt for prof of our warrenty. We were driving the RV so I told her the Denton, TX Camping World had made a copy of it, and could she call them for the fax. Four days went by and I got another call from OK city saying Denton could not find it and I would need to send them the fax. I made a special trip into town and did it. Nine days later, my daughter tells me the part still hadn't come. I called CW - OK City back and they said they had sent it . I then called Winegard and talked to them, they had NOT received it and told me they were waiting for the fax with the proof of purchace. I got there fax number, made a trip into town and sent it to them. Got the part within 2 days.
Had the first Camping World, been on top of things they should of found the problem and we shouldn't of had all the stops and all the hassel. Had CW in Oklahoma City made a copy of my information, we wouldn't of had the confussion with the fax. I really feel Camping World needs to get some techs hired that know what they are doing. Better training and better communications. CW, OK City even called me back to let me know they had sent the fax and the part was on the way. This was after I talked to Winegard and sent the information to them. I am the one that got the part ordered, who do they think they are kidding. Oklahoma City Camping World charged us for and I was told it was under warranty by Winegard, asked them about getting our money back and they called me back and said we would have to put in a claim to Winegard.

RE: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & Gizmos

Putting the hangers backwards, means the hook of hanger is put on rod from the back side of rod instead of from the front. And it does work.
