RE: Minnesota Fishing Trip

Ah, Bumpy,MN has great fishing, with plenty of "real" fish, including LM bass. Or walleye, pike, musky, SM bass and plenty more. Not sure how you came to the conclusion that 6" trout was all it has to offer, but I can assure you from my own fishing trips to MN that statement of yours is WAY off base. I agree since both of my grandparents were from MN, Tyler and Askov, and I spent a lot of time fishing in MN. just was a bit upset at their extremely high temp fishing license cost. my 6" trout was referring to what some trout fishermen consider to be game fish, I consider to be bass bait. :) bumpy Gotcha, lisc fees are pretty tough!

RE: what is a...

typically there is a small trans cooler built into the radiator. An additional cooler would be a seperate cooler attached to front of the radiator to provide extra cooling. Most all "trucks" have a cooler other than the one in the radiator. IMO I would want a trans cooler if I where planning on any towing.

RE: Jayco X19 Considering

Larger fridge is well worth it. Oven I would see as a plus since you dry camp often. We use ours all the time, uses very little propane and no battery, and is great when you get caught in nasty weather and don't want to cook outside. Equalizer would be a good idea. As for the AC, we rarely ( I think twice? ) use ours, but I guess that would depend on where you camp. I would GUESS the regular size unit would work, but maybe someone else can chime in on that. As for Jayco, we love ours! There is an RVDirect in Iowa which would be your closest option. Get their price and see if your local guy will work a deal. Nice to buy local, but some of these guys prices are just way off. Good idea from Daryll to get a better battery setup.

RE: Home from an amazing week in the Smokey Mountains!

For us its a weekend at the end of July, Labor Day weekend and this coming year with the new HHT we are going to also do Halloween. Can't wait! It is bit of a drive for us to do a weekend! It would be sweet to live closer. It is a wonderful park. Glad you are getting out to enjoy your new rig.

RE: YELLOW STONE

I am with you 100% Keith, but others don't agree, so let them stay where they want. For us, it is best inside the park!

RE: Home from an amazing week in the Smokey Mountains!

Glad you brought this post "back to life" as I can always enjoy a few pics of GSMNP!!! I like the shot a Newfound Gap overlook the best, but they are all great. I can almost hear the water......

RE: Use shade-tree body shop? or full-blown collision center?

Take a look at some of his work. We had a bodyshop for years and I couldn't believe the junk that came out of some shops, and the great work out of some little shop that I would not have expected it!

RE: bearings question

As far as the back-of-the-hand check or thermometer check goes, how hot is too hot? My old Jayco with the 12 inch wheels got pretty toasty at times. If a bearing is failing that hub will be much hotter to the touch than the others.

RE: Jayco

Very happy with our 07 Jayco as well! Jayco even did a repair for us out of warranty, and 2nd owners as well. I believe floor plan is just as important as the brand. Spend some time and look at some trailers to see what works best for you. We took about 1 year to find a good, clean used trailer that we liked, but it sure saves a boatload of cash by going used.

RE: Jayco HTT

That is very strange. That weight sounds better, but is it a real number??? FR has had a rep of shooting low on their weights, maybe Jayco is going that route.

RE: Jayco 23b Change to 2012 Model

The shower no longer has the raised skylight which takes away height and was a model change for this year. I was not clear and was did not mean to imply that they shrunk ceiling height across the board. It's one of the few showers he is completely smushed in with the raised shower floor and lack of skylight. Wow, surprised they took that out. Maybe to save a few $$. My sons are both over 6' and use the skylight for headroom as well. It is also nice to have the extra light in there. Glad your problem has been fixed by Jayco changing the design back. Order that baby and have a great camping season!

RE: need advice.. looking at jayco 23b and aerolite 232es

We looked at KZ and liked some things and not so much others. They did seem to have a canvas issue a while back, but have not heard anything for some time so maybe it has been corrected. The corners were tearing at the top of the bunk ends. I believe they use Sunbrella, which is an excellent product.
