RE: This MH is cooking my goose!

My first MH a 98 Discovery would freeze me and my DW with just the dash air and no curtain even in Vegas temps.
I then got a Tiffin 43 ft Bus and no such luck on needing a blanket up front.
I lost my Tiffin to a fire (non Tiffin issue)
Now I have a 2011 AC Tradition, the dealer bragged about the huge BTU on their dash air but still not as good as the Ole Discovery by far.
I'm thinking it might have some to do with the good ole R12 it had.
So we are in the same boat either suffer a bit or run the roof airs now.
I'm trying to get my family to understand we are supposed to be as smart as the birds and go to where the weather is nice!

RE: Newmar, Monaco, American Coach

Larry that is great, I have been very impressed when I call in about a question about something. I get my questions answered by the first person and then I get an email with the blue print of what I was asking about without even asking for one.

RE: Newmar, Monaco, American Coach

L Bligh
You may be correct it might have been a 14.6 in 2008. My 2011 Tradition has a 16.6 now though. My factory weigh in was 6800 on the left front and 6770 on the right front :B Plenty of room to spare, and yes moving the tanks makes a big difference.
How ya liking the new Rev?

RE: Newmar, Monaco, American Coach

Thank you all for your responses. W
Could someone help with what is the best way to determine if he front axle will have an overweight issue?
Thanks,
Stuart
If it has the 15.6k front axle it will probably be over weight also it should have the 315 front tires on it.
Of course the only sure way is to put it on the scales.
On the 2011 models holding tanks and the fuel tank were moved further to the rear taking the load off the front axle plus it has a 16.6 axle, I have plenty of margin on mine.
I had a 2010 43ft Allegro Bus and it was nose heavy also and only had 295 front tires, had to run max tire pressure not a good thing.

RE: Newmar, Monaco, American Coach

All good brands you have picked, I would look at the 2009 up in the American Coach line for a couple of reasons one being the front axle being over weight. This problem is not just with the AC products either.
Another reason I like the 2010 is they have a newer cleaner burning Aqua Hot System.
Oh and another for the 2010 is the chassis has been slightly changed to allow way better height to the basement storage areas.
Also 2009 ups res fridges are more common and they work great.
I have had very good service with my new AC and great tech support from the company.

RE: Anyone pick up their new Class A at the factory

Yes we took the VIP delivery with American Coach, got it tossed in for free. Two techs at all times to make sure we were happy.
We also had free camping until we were tired of staying at their service center. Sorry to say i didn't have time to enjoy that part of it, left two days after getting it.
Enjoyed it very much

RE: Want to go bigger Tiffin maybe

That's a good reason not to buy on the west coast everything is higher out there. Price at Davis RV in Memphis and Sherman Rv, I bought my Tiffin from Sherman RV. Only 50 miles from the factory and drove it home to Tx myself and I got 27% off.

RE: How the heck do I drive this dang thang?

Let me add don't over steer just try to relax it takes very little steering wheel movement to keep you on the straight and narrow.
Have fun!

If your looking at an Allegro Bus you can get about 27% off msrp if you shop around. You might check with the Tiffin forum Tiffinrvnetwork.com

RE: Need advice on aquiring Aqua Hot

The single electric element is now 5k BTU and I hardly ever need the diesel either. My AH exhaust is piped out the rear of the coach so it doesn't affect the neighbors.

RE: Looking for new motorhome frustration! Ugh

I drove from East Tx up past Roanoke VA about 1100 miles in my truck to buy a TT. The lady said she bought it new and her Son lived in it for three months and she hired someone to clean it. When I got there the carpet was dirty the kick panel on the couch too. I turned on the kitchen faucet and it popped off! You can imagine how i felt, the little lady had no idea she was unable to climb the steps to see it herself. Her Son needed a slap for abusing his Moms generosity and the cleaning lady for taking advantage of her too.
She worked with me on the price and I bought it and cleaned it myself, we stayed in contact for many years she was a sweetie.
I do feel your pain for sure.

RE: comparing 2011 Tour to 2012 Tour (42QDs)

My 2010 43 Tiffin AB (tag) had 295's all way around it, still had to run right at max front tire pressure. It sure hit hard on bridges and such, I know have an AC Tradition and it has 315's and can run less pressure u can tell a difference for sure.
About the floors, I had polished and regular pluses for both. the polished has a high end look for sure but it shows any wear where the slides roll in and out plus foot prints. The non polished is a lot easier to keep and shows nothing.
