RE: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}

The weather has been great so far this past week in West Tennessee. Little chilly in the early morning and later at night but the days are warm and sunny. Hope it stays this way as we dewinterized already.

RE: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}

Last night Sue said it was time to consider getting a new truck since ours is six years old. We are planning on some serious traveling this summer after the Old Fella Rally in Ohio. I would like to go to Montana and visit my first cousin I haven't seen in forty years and somewhere in the mix we plan on going to Michigan to visit Sue's folks. Having been in the automobile business for the first part of my adult life it is hard for me to hang on to a vehicle as long as we have the past few trucks. What advise for the owner of a 2000 F350 diesel ? It has around 13o, 000 miles and we are not sure if we can safely travel numerous miles . Would love to do the west coast but just not sure. Can't really afford to upgrade trucks at this tome but sure would like to take a few months to just see the USA.

RE: nuking dinner

After a long days drive we nuke instant mashed potatoes or the bob evans, can of beef stew/ chicken and dumplings whatever we have a taste for. Add a can of green beans or whatever veg table a glass of wine and we are happy. This only for travel days though. We have found the beek stew and steak chilli purchased from GFS are quite good actually.

RE: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}

Can't believe the weather up here this winter. 2 days ago woke up to 1+ inches of snow on the ground. Yesterday it got up into the 50's and was there until late in the evening. Today sunshine already even with strong wind we are up to 54 with the forecast to be almost 70. We are getting the camper ready to go to Richard and Sue's for a visit. We will be just be bumming around the country side for a while. Don't plan on going all the way to Florida but hopefully it will be warm where we are going. After Richard's we may try to go see a gal that lives about 125 miles north of Memphis. Also want to go to the Murfreesboro area in Tennessee and stop and see the horse that I used to have prior to getting hurt. Also the doctors that Lori worked with in Findlay have offices in Murfreesboro and Nashville. Who knows where we will wnd up. Hopefully all goes well. Got the suspension change on the camper and the truck serviced and tranny flushed and filled with new fluid. Hopefully all will be OK by the time we want to leave. I did something to my right knee and could bearly walk this morning. Have an appointment with my doctor early afternoon. They are going to x-ray it and I hope nothing is out of place - maybe just bruised as I was on my knees yesterday a little too long. Well I better go and try to get something around. Hope everyone has great weather, health and happiness. Dan and Lori This is makin me jealous and wishin we were ready to get out in the Rv. We stayed out too long in the season last year ( week before Christmas) so left the fiver in Hollow Rock TN. Would love to have every thing straightened out here so we could get back down there and take off on a trip. Have a good and safe trip.

RE: Non Smoking Campground areas

After about 1/2 hour 6 different campers gave him an option. either go way downwind, or pack up and leave. So why would he pack up and leave dosen't he have the same rights as you and 6 buddies. GMAB when smoking isn't allowed OUTSIDE we may as well be a communist country. No more freedom for anything from smoking to what ever we eat. I think this country is filled with a lot of wimps that want Government regulation in every aspect of our lives.

RE: Sliming down ol' barrell butt.

Diesel has gone from 57 lbs to about 70 since last spring. He has a Hugh body and little head seems to have happened after the Vet turned him into a girl. Thinking must be hormones. poor boy ! Prolly need to plan out a better diet for him but was hoping once winter is over he will get more exercise,

RE: Why do dogs bury bones??

One other trait that I have yet to figure out. They try to bury something using their nose to move a blanket, leaves or sometimes what appears to be nothing at all. BG will bring one of her treats up on the bed and proceed to "bury" it ON the covers. What's up with that? Three mornings this week I awoke to find a large bone buried under my feet, in the bed? Don't know which dog or why my feet, LOl.
