RE: envoy Denali/Trail Blazer 2WD

Must be the pump draining the battery. I have a 2003 trailblazer w/4wd and have no issues with battery drain and I've towed it over 17 hours in a single day. I do start it up after the day to let it charge up some but that's it. I would look at how much the Remco pump is pulling or your battery may be dying too.

RE: Harpers Ferry, WV camping

There is one closer to Martinsburg called Naketta or something like that.

RE: Lost prime?

Check to see if you have a primer pump (should be near the engine fuel filter. If you do, loosen the handle and pump it up until you have pressure on the pump handle. Tighten it back up and then try to start again, once it starts raise the throttle to around 1500 rpm for 30 seconds to make sure all of the air is out of the lines.

RE: Air Conditioner

You should have a Energy Management System (EMS) that will turn off electricity to the refrigerator, hot water heater and the second compressor (if needed), with this system I have ran my AC on 30 amps plenty of times. Usually I turn the Hot Water heater to propane and let the fridge switch back and forth if needed.

RE: problem pulling hills

If you have a Freightliner chassis there is a small hidden fuel filter (inline) on a cross member that you may need to change. I guy I knew had problems with the "hills" out here and during the Rally he asked the Freightliner folks and they told him to change that filter and then he was fine.

RE: iPod Repair

Search ebay picked up a iPhone 3gs screen for less than 10 bucks (of course it's a self-install).

RE: New IPhone/Good Sam App

So far I like it..... especially good for long trips when you are in a unknown area and are looking for campgrounds to stop for the night.

RE: Virginia RV taxes

See if you can "Store" your RV in Prince William County, I believe that county does not charge property taxes. In VA it's where you "garage" the personal property not where you live. I know of a number of people that store their RV there so they don't have to pay the PP.

RE: Buffalo NY to North VT via NY US11??

I took that route a few years ago (81 to 11 to 89) it was a pretty good drive, just one low clearance (12'9)?? about 20-30 miles on Rt 11 from 81. We just slowed down to make sure we had clearance (we are 12'6). Just watch it when you near the Canadian border, my phone jumped to international roaming.

RE: Freightliner coolant tank

I know I paid more than 35, but I got mine from Freightliner. Ditto

RE: Near Ashburn, Va.

You can also look at Candy Hill in Winchester, VA or Harpers Ferry KOA in WV. Both of them would be easier to get to Ashburn than Front Royal IMO.

RE: How did you sell your old RV's?

Sold ours though RVTrader a few years ago, cost was around 150 for unlimited time run (print and web), but only took around 30 days to sell. Also listed on craigslist but had no takers there.

RE: Anyone using Magnashade ?

About a grand and well worth it so far. That would be for the windshield, drivers window, entry door, long side window, wiper covers (free), and carrying case. Now the windshield cover does have a custom graphics applied and that's what cost some extra dough. I do love the ease of use takes about 5 minutes to put them up or take them down and no need to carry a ladder. Plus the DW wouldn't let me drill any holes in the RV for the snaps.

RE: Blue ox towbar repair

Have you called blue ox yet? I had some play in my tow bar and they just had me send it to them and they rebuilt the entire towbar for free (I just paid shipping there). I do believe mine was about 18 months old so it may of been warranty still too.
