RE: which steering product would be better?

I use neither ... I have the Steer Safe stabilizer. Really like it. Did not install it myself.

RE: A TENT you say?

I was on the Payettes in Idaho. You know, I have paddled the Main Salmon in high(er) water -- rapids up to 8 and 12 feet -- and it was nothing compared to the chaotic haystack waves we encountered over the 4th of July weekend on the Payettes. The last rapid on the Payette's Carbarton run was Howard's Plunge, and a huge lateral knocked me into the middle of the boat and swept the paddle captain and my port-side rear paddler out altogether. The paddle raft that went through before us was swamped and sucked down! It was like a yard sale below the rapid, with all the people, paddles, boats, hats, shoes & everything in the water after each boat came through.

RE: A TENT you say?

I felt like a slightly damaged person at the end of the trip. BIG water, small whiplash.

RE: A TENT you say?

Ha! My mountain biking friends call Ibuprophen "Vitamin I" ... I'll take it BEFORE I even get in my boat. And after. And after. God bless whoever invented the stuff.

A TENT you say?

I'm going to camp in a (gasp!) tent this weekend. Going on a river trip with a large group. I'm so spoiled with my MH, the ONLY time I'll sleep in a tent is on a river trip -- but usually it's a multiple-day trip on the river and we're sleeping in the wilderness. But this time we'll be car-camping and putting our boats in for daily runs on the river. Not the same. With getting older I've also gotten smarter ... I've graduated to a cot with an inflatable mattress. I'm too old to sleep on the ground any more. ;) I'll have to remember to bring a BIG bottle of ibuprophen for my river-weary muscles. And sunscreen. And bug spray.

RE: Anyone See This? How True It Is!

Well, of course, some of them ARE home. :D My thought, exactly! When I travel I'm on the road for months at a time and it IS my home. So why not bring all the stuff I want?
