RE: Personal Property Tax

... car tax rate ($3.57 per 1000) rather than the RV rate ($1.50 per 1000). ....Wow, that is cheap. My town has only one personal property motor vehicle tax rate for car or RV, $22.04 per 1000. The city of Providence RI is $76.78 per 1000 for car or RV.

RE: Hot Water Drain mod

Mine is similar to Larry's.
Parts - I used the brass fitting well wrapped with Teflon tape. I had the Camco fitting mentioned above for several years but it was a pain to operate on my Atwood because it was right behind the LP line. It had been wrapped in Teflon and it came out easily and had no corrosion from being in the aluminum tank. You need to be very carefull threading it in so you don't strip the aluminum tank threads.

RE: accidentally plugged in 240v to 120v camper....Help!!!

...
YOU CAN'T GET A 110/120v PLUG INTO A 220-240v OUTLET!!!!!http://www.roaringpajamas.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/No-Yelling-on-Email-300x199.jpg width=200.. As you can see from the pictures, it can be done if you try hard enough. There are still a lot of those old 220 volt outlets around. (Yes, it was called 220 then vs. 240 now!)

RE: Need Help! -- Can't get Reese Trunnion Bar w/Sway set up

It looks like the OP is on the right track with lowering the pads. It does look like the ball mount is quite high.
For others looking at the Reese 66153 hitch, here are the complete instructions, with pictures, from Reese.

RE: Medicare Help

I couldn't find the answer to my question on the Medicare site, so I hope someone here knows the answer.
How soon does the Medicare coverage start after you sign up and turn 65? we don't want to be with out coverage when my wife retires this fall, she will be 65 then.
Thanks in advance, Jay
I applied on-line and actually received a card in about two weeks. It begins on the first day of the month you are born in.
That would be Medicare Part A which is free. You also need to look at part B and D.

RE: Shopping failures...

.... I notice they every time I go to wally World there are fewer and fewer varieties of various products. If it doesn't sell in a given period of time it's out of there.....
Yup, I noticed that too. A few years ago Wally World near me had a large stock of RV antifreeze .... in May! Come September when I was thinking of winterizing they had none. When I asked, they said it didn't sell so they don't stock it now and camping season is over anyway so who would need that stuff now.
Ah, well, says a lot about letting computers decide what and how much to stock.

RE: A Question about Keys & Locks on TT's

My Bullet Premier had different keys as well. I just changed mine so they are the same. http://www.fastecindustrial.com/products/default.html
How difficult is it to change out the cylinder? Instructions anywhere?I had different keys for each also. IF you have Fastec locks there are 51 key codes, CF300 to CF350. (CF and HF are the same) I ordered 2 cylinders from http://www.fastecindustrial.com/products/default.html#FIC_RV_Keys to match one door. (one cylinder for the main lock, one cylinder for the deadbolt in the same door like this picture.)
http://www.fastecindustrial.com/images/43610%20Black%201a.jpg
This is what I ordered:
FIC Dual Cylinders w/Keys
http://www.fastecindustrial.com/images/DuelCylinder.jpg
Notice that those cylinders don't look like those used in a house.
There is also something called a Service Key that I ordered from a different website that is supposed to remove the cylinder. It didn't!!! I took the assembly out and took it to my local locksmith. He wasn't too familiar with RV locks but when he saw the cylinder and how it works he used a pick to remove and replace both cylinders in the assembly. That last band you see in the cylinder is what the service key releases to remove the cylinder. Cost me $10. Most locksmiths do NOT have the keyblanks or a method to rekey this kind of cylinder since it does not use pins like a house lock.

RE: Rear Framing

Here is a picture from a fellow Sunline owner when he rebuilt the rear of his unit. If all you had in the back was a sheet of plywood then you may have to design your own "rebuild". Some framing is hard to see with the insulation. His rebuild was mostly under the window where there is no insulation in the picture.

It may be helpfull to know what brand, model, year trailer you have. I don't think all manufacturers build things the same way.
