RE: I-10 to Orlando

In 2005 I-10 through La. was the worst road I have ever been on.

CLR in hot water heater

Why shouldn’t I use CLR to clean the white crud in my hot water tank?

RE: Its been years since I've seen ignition keys

Dad's '63 Ford Econoline Pickup had the ignition on left side of dash :B So did my 66 Datsun PU. That way I could turn the key with my left hand while working the manual choke with the right.

RE: Protect and clean vinyl graphics

303 is the best protectant you can use but it doesn’t do much for cleaning.

RE: FREE Atwood circuit board

That sounds like a very strange way to do Beta testing. Did the guy that replaced the board give you the phone number…probably one of his friend’s phone number. Probably a device that will suck all the info from your credit card inside your RV.

RE: Glacier NP to Butte

I’ve done 90 to 93 from Butte to Kalispell in a 36 foot with toad. Very easy drive.

Euro chairs

I am thinking of replacing my crappy J-lounge and recliner with a couple of Euro chairs. The type that recline with ottoman. Are you happy with yours?

RE: Hwy 40 through Flagstaff,AZ & Hwy 58 in CA in winter

Depends on when you are going. If you go now, there is no problem. I have seen both closed in past winters.

RE: El Paso

Haven't done I-10 all the way through but did the 375. I remember a bit of a climb going 375.

RE: How to replace HWH jack?

I replaced one of mine. Didn't have to lift the motorhome nore place it on jack stands. No fluid was spill in the process either. Very simple task. Probably the hardest task is removing the springs however mine were very easy.

RE: Adaptive Strategy learns while you drive

Pull the battery leads and let it reset. When you reconnect, first the engine has to learn how to idle ...then driving will teach the transmission. Besides, you'll be doing this every year when you clean the battery terminals, right ? jimUnless you plug one of these into it and attach a 9V battery. Computer Memory Save

Insurance?

What insurance company do you use and why? Have you turned in a claim and how was it handled?

The bad news is you probably fried your PCM (Computer).

RE: Water from shower?

Some manufacturers plumb the bathroom sink into the black tank so the gray tank will not fill up so fast. But I have not heard of plumbing the shower to the black tank.

RE: Refridgerator flue

They all get that way and usually never cause a problem. It is common practice to tap on it a few times and then blow out the particles that fall down on the burner once a year.

RE: Replacement for AC foam filter?

The one thing you DON'T want to do is restrict the air flow in anyway.

RE: Full (full full) Timer's Vacations?

We did take a trip to Talladega for the NASCAR race. Left the motorhome at an elks lodge. I wanted to drive there but we went with 3 other couples so we all took a flight and rented a van to get around. I would rather have all my own stuff with me instead of using hotels and rental cars.

RE: Fort Stevens SP, OR - loop recommendations?

We have stay there twice and love it. The only consideration is a site that you can use your satellite TV. There are a lot of trees. The office staff is pretty good about knowing good satellite sites.

RE: Replacement for AC foam filter?

Not sure what this has to do with fulltiming but I was buying some of the same foam from Walmart for $1.00, enough to make 3 filters. Used the original as a pattern and cut the new filters with scissors. However the last filter material I got from Walmart was too dense so I went to Lowes and found the right stuff. It cost almost 3 times more but was still under $3.00 for enough to cut 3 filters.

RE: School me on purchasing a new AC

Go ahead and buy the 15000 unit but don’t get rid of the 13.5. Instead install the 15000 in addition to the 13.5 and you will be comfy cool.
