RE: Small All Weather Trailers

I don't think they exist. Apparently that extra $500 in materials puts that $20,000 rig over the top. Or maybe they can't find the experienced labor to achieve a product that can survive four seasons.
I'm not down on manufacturers it just seems there is a market for this and no one produces them.
Good luck on your search.

RE: Water Leaking From Here?

Most likely your system is water bound. Drain some water out of your hot water tank with the pump off open some Faucets and trap some
air in the system.

RE: Tank size

I use a dish pan in the sink and dump that water down the toilet. The toilet usually needs more water than normal use gives it. Gray water tank is 40gal and black water is 48gal. Thats more poop than two can create in a month. Doing this allows two to make it 4 days including showers.
As far as replenishing water, I opted for a 35gal hard tank from the Tractor Store for $90 as opposed to a soft tank from Camping for $100. I also opted for the 12 volt pump from Harbor Freight I think I got on sale for $20. I think if I had to do it over I'd spend the extra money on a Flowjet with a regulator. This gives you the option to plug into your city fresh water connection.

RE: Changing your rear-end...gears!

Depending on your driving conditions and habits, you may find a loss in GPM's. Running the calculations based on gear ratios in theory you might get 10% gain. If your vehicle labors more you may find you are in the throttle more and your transmission may down shift more and you actually lose MPG's. Its a******shoot.

RE: Water pump ON .. water shoots out outside source water inlet

Funny story: one fall I winterized and pushed the check valve in to get anti freeze up to the fitting. If you have pressure behind the valve you will displace the o-ring...dint know that. Fast forward to spring, I de-winterized and went to a walmart so the DW could buy some supplies. While sitting there I used the bathroom turned the pump on to flush..looked out the window to see this stream of water shooting out of my fill port going into someones open car window....guess you had to be there....

RE: Additional charge for electricity

Its pretty typical around here that the electric posts have meters. I asked about it and they all stated they were for the seasonals, non-seasonals have them build into the rates. So had I gone to a new campground and seen the meter, I probably would not have questioned whether they were for me or not. I definitely would not have stayed or paid the bill.
