RE: Bird nest in the pin box

Use window screen and epoxy magnetic strip (Weatherstrip) to it. The magnet willstick it to the rear of the pinbox. X2 Now we have opposite problem. They are now nesting under the slide toppers while in storage!!! Imagine the surprise when looking up and there are nest poking out. Cleaned them out this weekend in the rain nasty. Any idea on that one? Far-N-Sweet

RE: Woops bad rookie mistake

Didn't even consider the hot water heater. Thought buy running the pump with the valves open both Hot and cold at the same time it would get it. Now that I think about it it does seems it is more the Hot water than the cold. As for how much embarrassed to say but tank is 85 gal and I used about 2 gal of bleach. Since the low drain points were open and I was not sure instead of 1 gal I added the second to be sure. Probably where I went wrong. Far-N-Sweet

Woops bad rookie mistake

Spent the weekend sanitizing the water system. Oh craps way too much bleach and still can't get all the bleach taste and smell from the water. Measured wrong then on top of it forgot to close the low point drains and dump over half of the over measure on the ground dag. Well lessons learned and will just have to keep flushing till we are good again. Far-N-Sweet

RE: Best Midwest State Parks

Deer Creek State park south of Columbus OH. Lots of wild life around with deer aplenty. Clifty Falls state park in Indiana, nice trails to hike with water falls in the higher levels Midwest has so many beautiful parks you really can't go wrong Far-N-Sweet

Axle Seals (Wheels)

Took my 2010 Jayco Eagle into the shop for the pre-spring check up and a few other minor work. While there I was informed that I should have the seals repacked once per year. Well I missed one year not knowing is no excuse. Anyway they informed me that a seal leaked and we need both pads and magnets. My question how would you know if a seal has blown? Would there be something you would feel when braking? Kind of expensive lesson to learn. Far-N-Sweet

RE: NYC Visit campground needed

Thank you all for the in put. DW and I have stayed at Liberty Harbor while visiting the city. The extra cost was more of the concern than the safety. We have felt safe each time we were there. We will just have to shorten the trip but still use the Harbor as home base. Thanks again to all of you Far-N-Sweet

RE: Campgrounds near Chicago

We stay at Indiana Dunes State park when visiting Chi-Town. There is a train service that will take you to McCormick place near to Downtown and will eliminate the drive. Only thing is it is an electric only park. Not sure which direction you will be coming from but there are others near Wisconsin. Far-N-Sweet

RE: winterized and forgot the low point drains

You will lose antifreeze when you open the low point drains. You can still attempt to add more by bringing more with yo to the unit. Add the antifreeze like normal winterizing ad open the low points till you see pink one at a time. Far-N-Sweet

RE: Coach Net Plans

We have the Gold plan and used it for the first time this year. DW had a flat on car and service was fast and professional. We found the Gold plan to fit or needs since they cover truck, 5er and personal vehicle. Since they specialized in RV service we stayed after the free year. Far-N-Sweet

RE: New Columbus by Palomino

We were at the Columbus Show today and saw this one for the first time. Loved the moveable island in the kitchen area. The floor plan was wide open in the RL area. One thing both te DW and I did not like was the lack of storage compared to the Jayco we have now. Also it may have been the amount of people use but the loveseat recliner leaned back and fel uncomfortable. All an all we loved the floor plan Far-N-Sweet

RE: Spring time around Ellis and LIberty Island (NY)

Depending on the time of day and the day of the week traffic into Liberty Harbor can be nerve racking. 1-9 will be the toughest section with all the traffic heading into the Holland tunnel. Once there as stated prior it is a parking lot with water and electric. But being this close the city you will spend more time there anyway. The DW and I use Liberty Harbor 3 to 4 times a year. Makes for extra money for the shows and all the good food. As stated depending on the time of day you will still have traffic. Far-N-Sweet
