RE: Considering full timing, (or at least long-terming).
The choice of a full time rig is a personal one. Much depends on one's needs and where one plans to spend their time. I've done extended travel for 6 years and full timed for 2 1/2, all in a big truck camper while still working. It's a four season, go just about anywhere at any time, RV. It has worked best for me due to it's mobility and versatility. I've traveled in the summer heat of Florida and dry camped in temps down to -8°F.
Upon retirement next year, I'm thinking of following the sun in a 30-32' 5th wheel. Should give me enough room to change my mind without having to go outside. Plus, still fit into most of the Federal/State/City and County parks I've come to enjoy so much. But, like I said... to each their own. Good luck in your travels.

RE: RV Park/Campground needed, Southern NH near Troy?
Check Wheelock Campground, a Keene, NH city park, about 10 miles from Troy. Website says up to 3 week stay allowed with permission. Never stayed there. Simply found it using US Campgrounds/info.

If you like government parks, you might use the site, US Campgrounds, to locate a campground. In my travels I've found city and county parks where space was available on holiday weekends. I attribute that to the fact that many weekend warriors travel over the holiday and city and county parks are far less advertised than State Park systems. There are some real gems out there at great prices.
First, check the "legend" at the bottom of the map so you know what's what. Secondly, drag the Google map to the area of interest and you'll see the parks show up like a pin map. Zoom in if needed. The column to the right shows the campgrounds showing on the map. Clicking on a particular CG in that column will provide a website for more info. Good luck.

RE: Water Hose
Don't get me wrong, because I'm old enough to recall the days of outdoor plumbing. But, I think the white hose is a little more sacred than the outdoor garden variety. Thus a little more thought and care goes into it's manufacturing, handling and use. When not in use, my water hose is drained, coiled up, and ends attached. A little bleach is passed through it 3 or 4 times a year. It's not used for anything else other than the purpose for which it was designed. The garden hose, on the other hand... LOL... well, you decide! Drive safe.

I do a lot of different public campgrounds: federal, COE, state, city and county; on the beach, a lake, a river, from the foothills to the mountains, a forest or along the flat lands. While lacking in all the amenities, each of them has had an appealing natural ambiance I've not found in most, but not all, commercial parks. Maybe it's just my perception of what camping is all about. Or perhaps those natural settings provide an environment more conducive to my personality. Either way, I'm thankful for the opportunity to full time and experience those serene settings and million dollar views.

Try spending the night in Camp Driveway this weekend. That should give you an idea of your needs over a couple of days. Of course, you'll need a fresh water hose, a sewer hose and plastic screw-in fittings. Might want to carry a donut for the sewer pipe just in case it's required. Enjoy!

In short, when you absolutely need to have Internet, a satellite system is your only option. A clear view of the bird in the sky is required. Due to the distance the signal travels, latency could be an issue. Start-up costs can range between approximately $1,500 and up.
An acceptable alternative for most people is an air card from one of the major wireless phone carriers. I travel and work east of the Mississippi and use Verizon's 4G MiFi. It's quick in areas where 4G service is available and compatible with slower 3G areas. However, service isn't everywhere I've stopped for the night and speed can vary dramatically. The MiFi service that I have costs $50/per mo. for 5G. That's plenty for me, but YMMV.

FL, TX, and S.D. are popular states to file domicile in as a full timer. Lenient in-state residency requirements, no State Income tax and liberal-to-no vehicle inspections make them attractive. However, it's always advisable to do your own research to determine which state best meets your needs. Besides being native to and having family throughout the state, Florida is where I wind up when not traveling.

A little history... I full time, domiciled in Florida and work out of the Charlotte office. MC Dowell Nature Preserve in Charlotte (reservations accepted) is a city park. Comparable in price with Ebenezer, it offers W/E and dump station. That would be my second choice in the Charlotte area over the commercial campgrounds. But, while about 12 miles further south, Ebenezer offers much larger sites, full hook-ups and WiFi on the lake for about the same price, thus my first choice.
Ebenezer just went up in prices last July. The senior rate went from $10/night to $26/night:(. Before the price increase, the rates were $13/night for county residents; $15/night for out of county residents and $10/night seniors (age 60+) and I spent a lot of time there. You could barely find a site during the camping season and only if you arrived Sun. thru Wed. Since the new rates are about 160% higher today, a lot of the locals are in a huff and don't visit the park like they used to. Still, the park is now priced in line with other county and State parks. It's an excellent value for the occasional camper, just not a good value for the extended traveler today.

If you're considering a Sea Eagle... go to Inflatable Boats 4 Less. According to sources, Tim and Crystal are about the biggest dealer for Sea Eagles and should have great prices.

I've traveled between Charlotte, NC and Buffalo, NY often over the past 8 years. I-77 to Beckley and Hwy 19 to I-79 was my route. Qudos to suggestions on the Tamarack and New River Gorge Bridge. Both are worthwhile stops. As mentioned, Walmart in Summerville and the newer one in Fayetteville are good for over-nighters with Fayetteville being better for finding a level spot. The Tamarack also allows overnight RV parking. One caution though... watch your speed in Fayetteville and Summerville, WV. The L.E.O.'s selective enforcement is heavy. Zero tolerance for speeders. Have a safe trip from J'ville... my home town... Go... Fletcher!(the original building):B

I'm a workin' full timer. 13 months until 65 and retirement, but who's counting?:B Have a place to park in the state in which I domicile. But, due to work, I'm seldom there other than short visits 5-6 times a year totaling 3-4 months.
I'm traveling in the east where I move every 2 weeks to a month. Federal and COE parks are most desirable due to the "geezer" pass and ambiance. State, City, and County parks have been very reasonable in addition to having longer stay limits in some cases. Passport America has saved me money, not only while in transit, but in those areas where a public park isn't available. Some PA parks have also allowed longer stays at the PA rate during the off season. I endeavor to keep my daily rate around $15/night with W/E.
I use a website, U.S. Campgrounds, to locate those parks. So far, so good. And again, let me also thank you for your service.

What he's referring to is that no one pulls a dry weight trailer. And that 3810 lb. dry weight represents 76% of capacity. Add in propane, a little water, batteries, and all of the equipment and supplies necessary to enjoy a modicum of comfort for a family of ___ (fill in the blank) and you're in all likelihood... over. Smaller trailer or a more capable tow vehicle to maintain a margin of safety and decent performance.
