RE: leave sink valves open during winter?

Wow, I never though of that, Jerry...might have to try it this year! (I hate that red stuff in the spring...seems to take half the summer to get all of the residue out!)

RE: Refrigerator..On or off while not in use?

I agree with leaving it on when possible. (And I assume you know to leave the doors open when you store the RV to prevent mold/stink from developing.)

RE: Heading out for first trip!

Have a great time! (We've found that we ALWAYS forget things so have a pad of paper and pen in the camper to make a list for future use.)

RE: Water stinks like rotten eggs

Did you make the mistake of putting antifreeze in the water tank when winterizing? We did that last winter and we've spent most of this summer cleaning and disinfecting the lines. (A couple cups of bleach run through the tank and lines helped the most of anything we did.) That rotten egg smell is SO nasty!!
Now, whenever the trailer is not in use for longer than a week, I drain all the water out of the tank and the water heater, too.
I, also, have a large 5-gallon water jug as a back-up in case we find bad water when out in the wild-blue-yonder! (But I always check the water, now, before heading out and I also fill my tank from my own house, never on the road.)
I never considered replacing the water heater anode rod...how often should that be done? (Our trailer is only 2 years old.)
