RE: My kid sprayed OFF (insect repellant) on plexi-glass door

Replacement screen door slides only cost around $10 or so. It might be simpler to just replace it.

RE: Millicom speed

We have the Millenicom unlimited, which is Verizon infrastructure and consistently see 1.2meg download, even out here in the boonies. When in the cities, it can be much higher.
Unless there's been a very recent change, Millenicom's Unlimited plan uses Sprint's network, and their 20GB Advanced plan uses Verizon. Are you able to use a My Verizon account to monitor your usage?Yep, I'm using the VZAM to monitor and check use.
Ahh! Ok, I'll give them a call and see if I can upgrade from my 20GB plan and keep the same USB760 modem I have now.

RE: UV filteration in FW tank...

The water used to fill RV fresh tanks is typically chlorinated and resistant to mold/algae formation. Even when it isn't, in normal usage the water in the tank is depleted and refilled often enough that again, mold and algae are not generally a problem. I think what we have here is a solution looking for a problem. :W

RE: What is this exhaust pipe called?

The commercial version is the Camco Gen-Turi. It works well for moving generator exhaust fumes and noise upwards and dissipating it above the RV roof line.

RE: Red Max 3 ??

A fellow over on the fiberglass RV forum has several white TT's that he coated with RMP 3 over a year ago. He states there's no signs of any yellowing so far.

RE: Permanent rubber hose for LPG inside RV?

My old 1986 Dolphin Class C had a rubber hose connecting the Suburban furnace to the LP distribution piping, but my 1995 Coachmen has a copper line connecting the Hydroflame furnace. The RVIA does not establish the building codes for RV's. They do however, require that their members comply with the applicable NFPA codes and other standards in order to get the RVIA label for a particular model. NFPA 58, the LP gas code, does not prohibit the use of appropriately rated hoses or plastic tubing for residential or vehicle use. Keep in mind, the LP distribution plumbing in an RV is operating at a very low pressure.

RE: Eliminating State Income Tax

It should be kept firmly in mind that a FULL-TIMER could care less about property taxes, he just wants to avoid the paperwork involved in filing State Income Tax Returns!
Since he will probably spend very little time in his "State Of Residence", he probably doesn't much care about the Sales Tax Rate, either (he is more interested in the tax rate where he is currently buying "stuff"!)
For me, the choice will be simple: Do I want to deal with the annual State Tax Returns in exchange for the PERMANENT registrations for vehicles over 10 years old, or do I want to become a "paper resident" of a state that does not have an income tax, and have to deal with annual re-registration of vehicles?
I still have time to make up my mind.
Having done both for many years, I can absolutely say that renewing vehicle registrations annually, or bi-annually here in NY, is much easier than filing income taxes. And often much cheaper... :B

RE: Applying Red Max

How do you get it off? Not floor stripper, right? Does it just accumulate on the surface or do you need to remove last years wax before applying new coats?
RMP is not a wax, it's an acrylic coating. Unless there's a section that needs to be completely redone for some reason, a good bath with Dawn or a good car wash soap, and a single recoat is all that's normally needed.

RE: tank sensors as in black tank

X2 on the SeeLevel II level monitor system. Besides the external sensors that are relatively immune to tank fouling, the level readings are in percentages, making them much more accurate than the "Empty, 1/3, 2/3, Full" systems.

RE: bigfoot leveling system

I am thinking of getting the bigfoot leveling system for my 92 30ft class a p series motorhome chassis. The front look doable but not much room in the rear. The tank is huge and takes up much of the area.Does anyone know how much room i would need between the frame and the tank.I guess what i am asking is how far do these cylinders extend outward from the frame. And how wide are they.
The jacks are normally mounted on the outside of the frame to get the widest foot print. The dimensions will vary depending on which size and capacity jacks your Bigfoot system uses, and whether it uses independent pumps for each jack or is a single pump system.

RE: fuel problem

F53's from 1994 to 1997 did not have catalytic converters. Looking underneath one, some people mistake the resonator for a cat. Also, the F53 didn't get OBDII diagnostics until the switch to the V-10 in 1999, so a Ford OBDI code reader would definitely be needed.

RE: An old guy and a bucket of shrimp

Rickenbacker was a flying ace and Medal Of Honor winner in WWI, and then served as a civilian consultant to the military in WWII. The above story apparently mixes facts from both his own flying service and his later consulting service. At the time of the WWII B-17 crash detailed above, Rickenbacker was a civilian passenger on the plane, touring the Pacific Theater to review living conditions and military operations. The "miracle seagull" story is true, at least as far as it helping the crew survive their ordeal. I don't know about the "bucket of shrimp" part.

RE: Email problems

Spammers routinely use a random email address of one of the recipients of their spam as the "From:" address. It usually peters out after a few spam runs when they switch to another random address to avoid filters. It's unlikely that your account has been hacked unless you've verified from the message headers that they are originating from your account. The "From:" address is easily forged.
