RE: swivel base for class c

Try "discountvantruck.com" they stock a lot of swivel seat bases and give them a call for your model.

RE: Ford vs Chevy

Chevy has more cab room than the ford and less front end alignment problems than the ford. Weigh out everything between the two. Also if you get a slide, make sure the seat can go back far enough for you when the slide is in. My MH was only built on ford but I would have preferred a Chevy.

RE: NJ motorhome inspection

When I had my 33' class A (460 )inspected last year I tried to tell the guy that it doesn't have a catalytic converter, with that he said he is a professional and knows his vehicles. So when I pull up to the exhaust analyzer he sticks the hose in the generator exhaust and nothing registered. I couldn't believe this bafoon, until another guy pointed out the 3" tailpipe. But this is NJ.

RE: RV industry (still) not catching up on quality issues

The customer cares about quality. The manufacturer cares about quantity. Unfortunately I don't think we will ever be on the same page.

RE: running off a 20 amp circuit at my house

While we are on the subject of electrical adapters, is it possible to make a pigtail (30 amp female X 2-120 volt plugs) plugged into 2 separate breaker 120 volt house outlets to supply a single 30 amp outlet and plug the MH into that? Would there be any back feed problems at the house having 2 separate breaker outlets connected together at the 03 amp pigtail? I would also use a surge protector at the pigtail in case one leg of the pigtail 120 volt breaker tripped. Dave

RE: so what rv has the better construction

One piece molded body and if you can afford it, Coach House. Panel type construction check out Nexus, what sold me was the light weight steel frame which is stronger than aluminum. One piece WRAP around the edge fiberglass roof, no blobs of caulk at edges like the others. Steel truss construction close to 6" at center and tapers to about 2-1/2" at edges, very strong. Which means it has more space for insulation and less heating and cooling loss. One piece front fiberglass cap, no seams for future leaks. Flush floor slides.

RE: Toadless C Owners, Do You Feel Limited?

I downsized from a 33' A to a 25' C and what a difference. I can drive the C anywhere and at this time have no reason for a toad. Like some have said you plan your trips accordingly and if you need to drive then tow a toad, if not, like me I commute to work so most times I stay put and enjoy the surroundings. But if I had to go somewhere it be easy enough to disconnect. Driving my small C is not much different than driving the old cube van in the past and that went everywhere. Dave

RE: Nexus RV

Left the factory today and had all my issues taken care of. The staff at the factory could not have been any more accommodating. They were very professional and most important honest about the repairs. How many manufacturers can you say that about? I don't know of any other motorhome manufacturer who would take care of their customers as Nexus does. They make a top quality product and more important stand behind their product without the BS! I am very pleased with my purchase and to be a part of the Nexus Family. Dave

Adding Stabilizer Jacks to Rear Bumper?

To help stabilize the MH a little better I was thinking about adding a pair of BAL "C" Series stabilizer jacks to the rear bumper. I thought once the MH is level the jacks would just keep it firm enough to keep it from rocking. Has anyone done this?

RE: How long before this becomes the new Class B?

There are two motorhome manufacturers looking into using the NV3500 HD chassis to compete with the overpriced sprinter units.

RE: Installing vent covers

I just installed 3 maxxAir II vent covers today. Start to finish less than 1-1/2" hours, 2 on plain vents and 1 on fantastic fan. Very straight forward directions. Murphy was out of town so the install went smooth which doesn't happen often enough. But I really like the added vent area and being hinged is a great bonus.
