RE: 2006 Winners Circle

Yeah, he said it says Propane right on the front of it. Also, it doesn't have a fuel station, so I think that would definetly mean propane. Seems like his wife is having second thoughts now. Worried that neither one of them is familiar with RVing, so she's concerned about potential breakdowns and what would they do. She's retired military, so they can stay at active bases, and they will probably settle somewhere in AZ. $1700 was for an installed Reese, and I definetly agree with Mav on that one.

RE: 2006 Winners Circle

So, he gave me some more info. Dealer will NOT weigh the rig for him. Said they use the UVW, and that's good enough. Offered to yank it to the scale for him, still waiting on that answer. He keeps insisting on knowing how much water weighs, cause he thinks he is always going to have the tanks full. Garage capacity is still a question. Said there is a sticker inside the cabinets with breakdown of water and propane weights, still leaves him with 3000 pounds CCC. Dealer says the hitch is only going to add 60-80 pounds. That seem right???? I think this is doable for him, but it will be really close. Told him he could always unload the CanAm and let the wife ride by herself-YIKES!

RE: 2006 Winners Circle

Thanks, guys. Didn't know till I looked at the link those were made by Thor. Gonna check that later. Got an offer from dealer 0f $20,760 out the door. Listed GVW of 15500, UVW 11489. CCC 3086. Dealer not sure of garage capacity. Mav, at the entrance it has 36SRV and under that it has 2006 in graphic lettering. Has a propane 5500 Onan, Elec. awning,Enclosed belly, no Tv's. Most all other basics are there. Also, dealer wants $1700 to install and set up a reese fifth wheel for him.

RE: 2006 Winners Circle

Somehow that lost whole first part of my post. Guy I work with wants to retire in this. Only him and wife. Tried looking up NADA value but site doesn't list Winner's Circle under Dutchmen. Dealer NADA site lists it at 39'5" and weighs less than 8000. Even at factory dry weight that seems way too low to me.

2006 Winners Circle

Anyone have any real world info on these? I told him to have the dealer go weigh the thing before he does anything else. His big problem is he only has a 2008 Duramax 2500, CC LB 4x4 and GCVW is 22000. Already had him weigh the truck and it's 7600 with him and the wife in it full of fuel. He wants to put a 660 pound Harley in it and his wife wants a new CanAm, and that thing weighs 970! He also wants to carry water most of the time as they won't be in campgrounds that often. Anyone know the size tanks they had in these? Any info appreciated. Thanks

RE: Feedback from current Dutchman Voltage RV owners

Quality control is still in the crapper.....
Ours went back to the factory for 75 days and still isn't fixed. The end result is that they don't know what the problem is with the slides and therefore can't really fix them.
Prior to that, I dealt with five different people at Voltage. We went from "take it to the dealer, they can fix it"
to "drive it to another dealer six hours away"
to "just bring it to the factory"
to "we'll come pick it up"
to "we're sending a guy from the factory to fix it"
Still wondering what is next .....I keep finding that they didn't address some of the items on the list that we discussed prior to the trailer going back to the factory. Yesterday, the toilet valve that was leaking into the bowl filled the toilet and started to flood the bathroom. I guess I should mention that this was on the list to be fixed at the factory, but guess what.......
Typical story of a typical problem. My generator made an intermittent knocking sound. As we reviewed the list of problems as they were preparing to send the trailer back to me, I realized that they had done nothing to correct the generator problem and demanded that they fix the problem with the generator before sending the trailer back. They listened to it at the factory and declared that there was nothing wrong with it. I explained that they were either going to fix the noise or replace the generator. The service manager then decided to play tough guy with me and stated they would NOT replace the generator and that it was not making any noise. I had recorded a video with the sound and sent a copy of the video to Onan, and posted it here on rv.net. Onan emailed me back and said that it was obviously the fuel pump and that they had been to the voltage factory and had now replaced the pump and serviced the unit. Frustrating.....but at least that is now fixed.
Love the trailer, but the customer service and lack of quality control makes me want to pull my hair out.
We almost bought a 3600-saw one at the Hershey Rv show last Sept. We really like the floor plan with the 1/2 rear bath. Then I heard that they had the guy who designed the Raptor was working over at Dutchmen. Not sure if he was just a design guy or an engineer, but since we had SOOO many problems with the Raptor I din't want anything associated with them or Keystone. The above post is what I was afraid of happeniong to us. Didn't really want to spend the money, but we settled on a 2012 XLR just to get rid of the Raptor. Haven't been able to take it out yet, but sounds like I'll be glad I didn't get the Voltage after all.

RE: New Forest River XLR 300X10

Really close to putting a deal together on a 35x12. Can't believe the money I'm gonna spend, but ya only live once, right? And I already told the kids I was spending their inheritance!! Just a question, on the Forest River forum, some folks have said they are having an issue with the kitchen slide not coming in properly. Seems there isn't enough voltage to it unless the rig is plugged in or the genny running. Any one having an issue with the kit. slide?

RE: Ford 6.4

If your only reason is to do this for increase in mileage and not performance, simple math should tell you if it's worth it. You'd have to figure out how many miles you actually tow in a year. If you're going to go from 8 MPG to 11 MPG, it will save you .13 a mile. So if you spend $2000 to upgrade the truck with tuner and exhaust it will take you 15,385 miles to make back your $2000. Figured this with fuel costing $3.75 a gallon. These are only towing figures, so empty would be another set of numbers. As far as the fines are concerned, people have been messing with emissions systems since they were introduced in the '70's. It's more sophisticated now, but same principal. How many stories you ever see about anyone ever getting fined? Pretty sure that would be big news on all of the forums.

RE: thunderbolt xlr 386x12

Been looking at XLR's for the past 2 years. Got so frustrated with Keystone and the problems with our Raptor was raedy to trade it after 2 years. Really like the layout of the 35 and 386 models. We liked the idea of the staircase instead of a ladder to access the loft since our grankids would be up there and they're quite small yet. Compared to ouir Raptor, the interior is much nicer too. And the new units have the new slideout system which seems way better than the old hydraulic or cable systems. The AMP it up package gives you Corian countertops which the wife really liked. With the kitchen bar being in the middle it takes away some of the openness we have in the Raptor but figured we'd get used to it. Almost had a deal on a 3514, but then the dealer started playing games with the numbers so we walked. Another thing you may want to check out is the second year warranty from Forest River. For $250 they add the second year of full coverage, which I think is well worth the expense. Now if I could only convince the wife to give up the second bathroom in the Raptor......

RE: Would like your input about Raptor 365 LEV

You didn't say if you were gonna full time when you retire, but would suggest you read Keystone's warranty disclaimer if you are. I believe full timing in their units voids the minimal warranty they do give you. As far as the Raptor itself, we bought a 2008 brand new and it's been nothing short of a nightmare since we have it. Many problems, and Keystone was never much help other than trying to patch up their shoddy workmanship just to get it past the warranty. Been trying to get rid of it since we bought it, but the dealers want me to lose so much money it isn't feasable. Going to another dealer this Wed. see what kind of deal I can get on a Voltage.

RE: Voltage 3900

Can anyone explain why the living room slide has such a hump in the floor? There are so many other units out there with smooth, flat, even with the floor slides. ??? I have tripped over that hump for about a month before I got used to it.
Saw this in the XLR we were looking at too. If I remember correctly, he said it was because of the new style slideout track they are using. Don't know if you have it, but the new ones have a 3 track system on each side, and there is no way for the slideout to shift up or down. The track system keeps the slide staright at all times. Should make for a much better seal, but it sure does leave a big hump in the floor.
There was a Voltage out there (Hershey) I was really interested in, but the boss was ready to go home and I didn't get to talk to anyone. I believe it was the new 3600, with 1 1/2 baths, which my boss insists on. My only concern now is their association with the Raptor people, as that's the reason I need to look for a new one in the first place. Anyone know how connected the Keystone/Dutchmen places are- both being owned by Thor?
