RE: Battery Minder

They sure are, I have 3 or 4 of them use them on my vehicles that I only use occassionly, lawn tractor, generator, I always watch for them to go on sale.
Same here ... I have a handful of them that I run in parallel to keep my golf cart (8 volt Battery Minder), and 12 volt version for my pontoon boat and TT batteries. I keep them on all winter in my garage at home, and they're always good to go at the start of the next season!

RE: Mt. Rushmore

Rafter J is also an excellent choice, in Hill City. As you know, lots to do in the Black Hills area. Have a great trip!
X2. Stayed there for a week and really enjoyed it, as well as being very close to all of the attractions in the Black Hills area. Have fun!

RE: Camping

Same with the Cleveland Clinic up here ... full hookups in one of the fenced-in parking lots. I drive by it every day and there are always at least a half-dozen TT's parked there. A great feature to have!

RE: Air Compressor vs RV Anti-Freeze

Same here -- I've been using a compressor for 20+ years now here in Northeastern Ohio and have never had a problem. As others have mentioned, put some RV antifreeze in the traps and empty the water heater. For what it's worth, the campground where we have our seasonal park model does it the same way.

RE: Where do you store your WD Hitch?

I use a rifle case to store my WD bars, extra spring clips, lithium grease, etc., and just store them in the forward storage compartment. Nice and easy!

RE: Storage of WD bars

I bought an inexpensive shotgun case to store my bars in the front cargo compartment. My magnetic hitching rods also fit in the case. This makes it easy to get them in and out of the storage compartment, and the case has several zippered compartments to hold my hitch grease and extra parts for the hitch.

RE: Travel trailer broken into -- any suggestions?

Those of us who had been broken into have spoken to the owner. He is reluctant to do anything about it, so the TT will be out of there by the end of the season. Two years in a row of $1100 repairs (plus loss of personal property) is enough for me.

RE: "Tote - along" opinions and info

I have 2 Barker's: a 22-gallon and a 42 gallon. For most trips I use the 22-gallon. The 42-gallon is nice, but at 8.33 pounds per gallon, that's about 350 pounds totally full to have to haul up to the dump station. Barker customer service is fantastic. The 42-gallon tote recently developed a leak along the one side seam and even though it was out of warranty, the sent a brand new tank at no cost.
I've never had any other brand, but I stand by my Barkers! One thing, though ... most folks (myself included) end up replacing the plastic wheels with pneumatic tires.

RE: Yellowstone & Grand Tetons National Parks

We stayed at the West Yellowstone KOA Campground, which is just 6 miles from the West Entrance. From there, it's not too far to Grand Teton National Park. There are probably less expensive alternatives, but the KOA was clean and our lot backed right up on the Continental Divide. Here's a link to their web site: West Yellowstone KOA
If you haven't been to the area yet, you'll love it! There is a ton to see and do in the area. We allowed 7 days in the Yellowstone area(out of a 40 day Western trip), and felt like we could of or should of allowed a bit more time. Enjoy!

RE: Any concerns with Kitchen slide outs

Three years with mine, and 0 problems. For what it's worth, I had the same initial concern. Good luck with your decision.

RE: front decals faling off

Mine did the same thing after 2 years. The side and back decals are still perfect ... it was just the front ones. I found a new set of decals on e-Bay for $24 and spent a lot of time removing the remnants of the old decals. After all that, and reading about how many people have the same problem, I decided to leave them off the front. Yes, you can still faintly see the old lettering in the bright sun, but that's still preferable to having to scrape them off every 2 years!

RE: toliet

I just replaced a Thetford Aqua Magic with a new one of the same type. It was a foam ring. The whole job, including taking the old one out, took about 20 minutes.
