RE: Propane Extension

I have made several hoses over the years on different TT's. You can customize a hose much cheaper and get exactly what you want to do. Most industrial hose supply houses are more than willing to help and almost all carry propane rated hoses and fittings. They have the tools to add whatever ends you want to whatever length of hose you want. Just keep in mind that a hose has a much larger pressure drop than hard pipe and if the length is long a larger diameter may be required.

RE: Walmart parking lots

Stay as far away from the building as possible. Don't go near the the delivery area (trucks all night). Be prepared for 4:00 am street sweeper in the parking lot. At least thats my experience in Biddeford, ME. Man, that was a long night. Couldn't wait to get back on the road.

RE: Do you miss your front window?

Our previous Rockwood had a front window in the bedroom. Never used it. New TT doesn't have one. Perfect. No more hornets nests to clean out.

RE: Which caulk? Duralink? 3M 4000?

I have never used it on my TT but I couldn't imagine not having 3M 4000 on the boat. It is great for outdoor applications.

RE: 35' TT too much to handle for weekends

We mostly do weekend camping. Length is only a problem with campsite selections.

RE: Another Hot Water Tank OR Pump Problem

Several questions: 1. Is the problem consistant with the other fixtures? 2. Do you get hot water when the faucet is open? 3. Do you have the problem connected to city water instead of the pump? My initial response was to check the hot water bypass, and the anti-freeze adder kit. Either of these could be open creating the issue. If air is being introduced there is most likely a leak somewhere on the suction of the pump (ie: anti freeze adder kit valve open which is sucking in air)

RE: On road, need quick advice on brakes

Sounds to me like the controller moved. If it is on a hanging bracket it may have moved. Try levelling the controller and recalibrate.

RE: gas mileage

Just some simple math: IF it were a $5,000 add for the diesel and an overall improvement of 6 MPG and the costs of fuel the same (which its not in most cases) then, $5,000 cost upgrade / (($4.00 gal gas / 10 mil/gal) - ($4.00 gal diesel / 16 mil/gal)) = 33,333 miles to recover cost of the diesel upgrade This doesnt add in the maintenece adder for diesel over gas.

RE: Water Damage and Insurance

we just went through this from last winters damage. Water got in through the roof and damaged the ceiling. Long story short...the insurance co totaled the TT and we fought over the value for awhile but ended up settling at a reasonable number. It really depends on the coverage. Well worth investigating it.

RE: nitrogen

Nitrogen will not change tire pressure substantially as the the tire temperature changes. It will also keep the tire cooler. So, this benefits in better control, longer life, better fuel mileage. Still sounds like a pain to keep nitrogen around or locate filling stations. We keep it here at work and it is highly compressed (2000 PSI) in a heavy cylinder.

RE: Carrying Spare Parts - Alaska Bound

I'd pass on the springs as well. Sounds like a good trip!! If something severe did happen to the TT, stay longer to get it fixed, if not leave it and move on with friends, if you can't leave it burn it and have plenty of marshmallows, then move on with friends. Good insurance and plenty of tools? Maybe a wireless internet card, computer, cell phone. But if these work you haven't gone deep enough in!!

RE: which bunkhouse

We just purchased a Prime Time Lacrosse 318 BHS Touring. Didn't see it on your list, but all the ones you have looked into I have seen. Do you like the Bunkhouse slide? We can easily sleep 4 in ours withthe Trundle bed under the coach that slides out. PrimeTime also makes a few different versions in the Tracer line as well.

RE: Primetime Lacrosse 318bhs experience

Yeah, I was just looking at the Tracer online. It seems that the MSRP is about 2k less then the Lacrosse depending on options. I am really impressed so far. Anybody have pics The Tracer is smaller and loses the pantry in the kitchen. I also noticed the colors were darker which made the TT seem much smaller than the Lacrosse. The pantry was important to us as both TT's lack storage. Both products also have a countertop that appears to scratch very easily.

RE: Primetime Lacrosse 318bhs experience

We just purchased the 2012 Touring 318BHS. Anxious to get it out camping. I couldn't get near the $23k price for a Touring version which really upset me because I could get the Standard version for that price. It's upsetting because the dealers advertise the Touring as $4,000 of added features for free, BUT they still ask a higher price for the TT. I did find one in PA for a little more than the $23k. If you like the TT $23k seems like a real good price from my research. You may want to investigate the Touring package as well versus the Standard package. The Touring is only offered to the Dealer as a one-time purchase and cannot be ordered anymore, unless you wait for the 2013 in October. There are still a few Touring Editions on dealer lots if you look around. My biggest problems: The aluminum fascia and plastic wheel shroud on the large slide-out. They bow outwards because the aluminum is hitting the slide height adjuster. I have not heard of a fix yet. Cannot add a ladder to the camper.

RE: Looking to buy a Lacrosse 318 BHS

Just took home the Touring Edition of the same trailer. 2012. Haven't camped in it yet, but have done TONS of research. Also have compared to several different other models. The top competitor for us was the Sprinter 311 BHS. Any other question feel free to ask or PM.
