RE: Harbor Freight Solar Panel

I'd say no, and I have that setup on my trailer. Five years ago when I bought it there didn't seem to be similarly priced options. Now, as others have stated there are. You can even put together a decent system on Amazon.
BTW, I, and several others I camp with, who bought them, replaced the controllers immediately or shortly after installation.

RE: Aftermarket Bug Screens over furnance exhaust/intake

i bought stainless kitchen strainer from walmart for 2.00 and took off rim and it makes a nice screen
How did you attach it? The manufactured screens come with a holding wire/spring thats a bugger to hook on sometimes.
Two years ago I found a dead bat lodged in the exhaust. After 20 minutes of pulling bits and pieces out I finally had it cleared. Went into the trailer and grabbed one of those drain strainers and set it over the exhaust while closing the cover plate. Didn't bother removing the rim since it fit through perfectly. Still using the same strainer.

RE: Solar Battery Charger

I've used a solar battery minder on my system for some 4 years now.
Here's a complete 15w setup. Mind you, this is but a "trickle charge".
It would probably take a few days of charging to get to the maintenance mode.

RE: Allure flooring (did you go over the vinyl)?

When I removed my carpeting I found vinyl flooring under part of the kitchen area. The balance was bare plywood. I stapled the end down and installed the Allure right over. No under lay, no nothing. It's almost a year now and no sign of the seam. I think the Allure is thick enough to not imprint on minor imperfections.

And that "what" will be you sending ole JW the balance of the large check you will be sent. That scam is still out there? I've heard of people playing the scammers just for fun, but I would not have the patience. As far as the solar ?, definitely go thru a solar type company as suggested above. I only have 130 watts of panels running two group 27 deep cycle batteries and I'm fine with it. BUT, no micro wave or ac.

RE: Vinyl plank flooring

Any suggestions on where I should start laying down the floor? Is was thinking of starting at the corner under the wardrobe (beside the fridge). I would then work my way towards the front of the trailer but I would also have to do some towards the rear to cover the bathroom. Would it be better to start over at the entry door?
The Allure installs left to right due to the end tabs. Unless you plan on a transition strip I'd do one continuous installation.
I think I saw a side to side install picture somewhere but I installed mine length wise.
We get cold winters here in NY and I do use my trailer thru December and then a couple of trips starting in February. No flooring issues yet.

LED vendor ?

I'm looking to replace my most used bulbs. Has anyone purchased LED pad lights from this vendor? Almost $10 cheaper then most of the sites I have been checking out.

KendallP, thanks for that write up. I did read it and some of the other threads but am looking into the pad type replacements.

RE: Allure so easy a caveman could do it.

Nice work. I wouldn't worry about expansion and contraction too much. I installed this in our trailer last August leaving an 1/8" space max. Went there last week for the first time since December. Temperature was about 20F inside.
Didn't look like any movement. still had the same 1/8" gap (I didn't install any molding yet, just two transition strips - one to the carpeted rear bedroom, the other to the side bathroom).
