Biting Bugs...Henderson Beach SP vs St Joseph SP in May ???

Just a curious question on bugs between the two state parks as were hoping to make reservations for 2013. Hoping to not repeat our trip at Bahia Honda after a tropical storm had passed through the week before in late June of 2005. Once evening hit we couldn't sit outside at all. The park staff even had mentioned at the time that they were way worse then previous summers. We were leaning towards St Joes and it's more remote location and easy walk to the beach as this is what were going for, just some simple R&R. Knowing St Joes is on a peninsula and there may be more of a chance of a breeze seems like it may help but having so much nature areas and tidal pools seem likes it could be a nasty breeding site for the biting bugs. Henderson SP being in a more built up area seems less conducive to the critters but with the park having so much vegetation between sites seems like it could kill any breeze to help with bugs. Any thoughts on bugs at these parks in late April or May time frame? I've heard mentions and have read on RV park reviews about bugs but it's not a prevalent complaint in the numerous reviews of these parks and I haven't had much success searching here. Thanks

RE: Montreal to Acadia NP, ME

It's been a several years but we drove through Montreal then kept on 10/610 to east of Sherbrooke then used hwy 212 across to cross the border on Hwy 27 into Maine. Fueled up in Sherbrooke and had no issues making it into Maine. Lots of small towns along the route. We hit Hwy 27 in the evening which may have been poor timing due to all the Moose crossing signs but we didn't see any thankfully. We were towing a pop up with little ones and just hit a motel in Skowhegan at that time so I have no good stopovers listed in my journal.

RE: spray in bed liner or drop in?

If your buying your truck and plan on keeping it for awhile go with the spray in. My Line X is holding up just fine after 6.5 years of use and I've thought on a few occasions I may have damaged it just to see it's holding up just fine once I get it cleaned up. @Blangen I've had no issues with my drain holes. If I have to much dirt or whatever builds up I sweep it out and spray things out. I do get some leaks from the Leer cap and that water drains out after heavy rains with no issues. If your leasing and want to go cheap get a drop in liner. If you've ever seen what the bed looks like after removing a drop in after a couple of years of use you'd understand the benefits of a spray in.
