RE: Winegard SK-3005 TRAVLER

I have a 2005 40' DP with a King Dome currently installed, and am going to switch to Directv and an SK-3005. Assuming I can use the existing cabling, I'd like an estimate of how long it should take an experienced RV shop to install the new satellite system. Any ideas? Thanks- Dave My RV shop estimated 6 hours to remove the KD and replace it with the Winegard. I had two different shops give me a quote of 2 hours to remove my KVH and install the SK3005. Ray

RE: Winegard SK-3005 TRAVLER

The specs on the SK3005 state that no converter boxes are needed and that it is compatible with most directv receivers, I have an HR23-700 DVR from directv, shouldn't I be able to run just one cable from the dish to my receiver. At home I only have one cable coming to the DVR and it records one channel while I watch another. Why would I need additional interface boxes for the SK3005? Thanks for helping me understand this.

RE: Digital antenna

There is a detailed explanation on how to hook up your converter box at this link: http://www.everything-about-rving.com/how-do-i-install-a-digital-tv-converter-box-in-my-rv.html

RE: Digital antenna

Do you see the converter box menu on your TV, you should see a setup menu coming from the converter box, it will have you scan to find local digital stations. Not sure how far you got with your attempt. best buy sold me the antenna. this is an 89 driftwood I tried the converter between the antenna and selector box no channels with existing MH antenna! Would it be amplified originaly? i checked continuity of the coax, it is good. There is 12v socket and a switch that is in the control box, i assume the original tv was 12 v? I double checked all the connects even used pliers to tighten, tried going thru vcr too, I has me stumped!!thanks for all suggestions
