RE: Trailer Recommendation

We saw several of the Kodiak models at the RV show in Denver a few weeks ago. They seemed like real nic units. We are very happy with the Dutchmen Komfort fifth wheel we have.

RE: Heartland Elkridge QSQB

Don't have that model, but had the 34QSRL. Beautiful interior, but I fel Heartland needs to work on their quality control a bit. Traded it for a Dutchmen Komfort last summer.
You might consider checking the Heartland Owners forum here to see what other Heartland owners are saying.

RE: Portable generators

I have the Honda 2000 and the Yamaha 2800. I have had the Honda for several years, but couldn't run the Microwave or the Convection oven in our new fifth-wheel so bought the Yamaha last summer. They are both great generators.

RE: Looking for a nice campground in Moab, Ut

We prefer Dead Horse Point, but it's electric only. You have to bring all the water you need as you can't fill up in the park.
If you are after FHU's, personal experience tells me that you can't go wrong taking Lauren's advice.
We will be there the first week of June also.

RE: Has anyone used the Flush-King for dumping?

The black tank flush and the Flush King (or your own version of it), both have their own advantages. I have a friend that managed to get the black tank clogged up. It wouldn't drain and the in tank flush wasn't helping. A neighbor in the campground offered his Flush King. I broke up the clog very quickly. He has both now!

RE: How to winterize a black water flush system

I don't do anything with mine except empty it, then put some pink stuff in it afterwards.
Plastic freezes when the ice causes it to expand and contract. A very large tank with a tiny bit of water left in it will usually be fine. I put some RV antifreeze in mine, not even a lot, for safe measure. Never a problem in ten years.
Not worried about the tank, but the line and check valve in the black water flush.

How to winterize a black water flush system

Last spring when we had the fifth-wheel out for the first time, the check valve in my black water flushing system had a leak. That's when I figured out that I had totally forgotten to winterize this system. I would be interested in knowing how others winterize their systems. I had my rig professionally winterized last fall, but would have always done my own winterizing and would like to in the future.

RE: This is the kind of stuff Apple does that drives me bonzo!

All this bellyaching because of a missing button that did nothing but shortcut kick you over to Amazon.com's website in Safari. When you purchase a Kindle book at Amazon.com's website it still gives you a one-click option to deliver your book directly to your iPad whether you shop from your computer, phone or iPad.
Why no bellyaching about Kindle that does not allow you to shop Apple iBooks or Barnes & Noble Nook books, period? Isn't that a more onerous and unfriendly corporate screw over by a company that basically sells you a substandard device that benefits only them?
I guess we are not going to go back to RVing. Well OK!!
Comparing the iPad functionality to an ereader is still not apples to apples. Just doesn't compare. I know I own both.
What is the point of removing the ability to shop for Kindle books from the app, when I can open Safari and do the same thing? It's an inconvenience and thus an irritant. Again what is the point?
This time I am really done here.
Moderator, would you mind closing this thread?

RE: This is the kind of stuff Apple does that drives me bonzo!

As I stated earlier this "acolyte from Redmond" owns an iTouch and two iPads, hardly an Apple hater.
Seems like this thread has pretty much gotten off subject. Let's get back to RVing, likely something we can all agree on.

But Apple doesn't create updates for Amazon's apps.
True, but Apple does strickly control apps available through iTunes. I am guessing that Amazon didn't jump with joy over being told to remove the functionality.

RE: This is the kind of stuff Apple does that drives me bonzo!

Firewire, GUI, Imac, OS X (unix for the masses), iPhone, thunderbolt or we could list the hundreds of patents, many of which Andriod will have to pay Apple for. Just to name a few
Firewire - Yeah that was a big hit
GUI - Surprised you didn't say windows (Oh yeah Apple lost that law suit didn't they)
iMac - Who cares? Unless of course you are an Apple Brand loyalist
OS X (UNIX for the masses) - Really, they developed UNIX? Or did they borrow it?
iPhone - I'll give you that one
Thunderbolt - Developed by Intel (with some help from Apple)

RE: This is the kind of stuff Apple does that drives me bonzo!

APPLE has taken the lead in the marketplace with a long list of amazingly innovative products and as is typical, such success draws the ire of many.
Besides the iPod, iTouch, and iPad what is on the long list?
These are great products no doubt!

Great experience with Dutchmen Warranty Service

Seem you see a lot of negative posts about warranty experiences with RVs.
I recently had a great experience with Dutchmen on my Komfort fifth-wheel.
Seems that the sewer/grey water dump line was routed wrong during the manufacture of our Komfort. Documented the problem with pictures and description and Dutchmen took care of the repair.
Thanks Dutchmen!

RE: Fifth-Wheel Forum

Go to My Forums>Hide Forums and make sure it's not accidentally check marked. You can also try an alternative portal here.
That was it. I have never been in the hide forums dialog box. No clue how it happened, but unchecked fifth-wheel in there and there it was. Thanks!

Perhaps I missed it, but I am pretty good about reading the descriptions and sure don't recall anything about removing the Shop Kindle button.
