RE: Changing Never Lube Axles Out????

I would stay away from eze lube hubs. Too easy to over grease 'em. The last two trailers came from the dealers with over greased bearings and got on the brakes. Had to clean up that mess my self.

RE: My finials finally came in!

Seems like sellers are low balling the product but padding the shipping. Make it look like their stuff is well priced but the shipping company is a rip off. I just worry about total cost most of the time.

RE: Inputs on my Solar/Battery Design Please

Looks like you are a whole bunch smarter than I am on this stuff, but is it OK to put batteries under the propane trays?

RE: What iz it? Unknown plumbing piece?

They make those vents in two different styles. One with and one without a spring to hold the valve closed. The one with the spring will work just fine for just a few bucks and not much more than the one without the spring. No need for a $40 vent. The one without the spring is a real cheap version, most places(ACE)only stock the one with the spring. Our first Bighorn had no springs in the vents. Our new one does.

RE: Filling fresh water tank

I keep a short piece of 5/8 heater hose and put it up to the vent and blow it out. At times water can stay trapped in the vent hose and cause water to flow out the inlet and you think it is full when it is just backing up.

RE: Mama got scammed

In town here just this week a guy lost his life savings ($80,000) sending it out so he could collect in a lottery. He was told to send more money. He got arrested for going ballistic because the bank wouldnt loan him another two thousand to send off. Bad day for the guy all around. Hard to believe folks fall for this kind of stuff.

RE: Norcold -- freezer very cold, fridge kinda warm

Put fridge items in that are already cold. I think lots of folks have the same problem with residential fridges but just dont notice it because they are in no hurry. I even have problem with my garage residential fridge putting in not so cold beer. Takes overnight to get in Icy cold. Some times I put it in the freezer a couple of hours to speed it up.

RE: What I've learned on RV.net

Hehe, hehe. I luv the "white knuckle" stories. Been driving over 55 years. Pulled every thing, hauled every thing every where in wind, hills and rutty roads. NEVER, EVER had a "White Kuckle" experience. Makes me wonder what these guys are doing. Oh, my goodness and I have never owned a dually!
Hehe, I love this, "I hope I don't drive on the same road you are with that set up cause you are endangering me and my family"
Last year on our way to AZ I quit worrying about every little thing that was going to ruin my life and I quit buying every little do-dad that was suppose to make my whole life better. I had the most enjoyable time I ever had this year. And its only going to get better.
Oh, oh my gawd I forgot and I have a LIPPERT frame!

RE: Jayco Service

We have an RE and have no problems with ours. Do you transport the trailer with the TV up? The rear end of the trailer gets pretty bouncy and could be part of the problem. I think the mechanism is built by Mor/Ryde . You might contact them, they are pretty friendly.

RE: Cedar Creek 36RE or Pinnacle 36REQS

The Jayco Pinnacle 36REQs has had a total of 14 warranty items repaired over the last 1 year. I am not sure if this is typical of a new unit now or not? The warranty is 2 years and Jayco has authorized every repair the dealer requested. It seems to me that a MSRP of 72k would include a better pre-delivery check.
We have had numerous problems with cracking in the wood cabinets and furniture from the dry heat/low humidity in Arizona. Don't know the answer to that is going to be in the future.
Not too relevant to the OP but in AZ were we spend the winter some folks leave their trailers stored there year round. They all put a couple of 5 gal. buckets of water in there trailers to keep the wood from cracking. They all said most of the water is gone when they get back the next fall. You might try that.

RE: to chip or not to chip DURAMAX engine?

Have an "03" non cat motor, 300HP. Put on the Edge and run in economy only. Gives just enough extra ponys to take that hill. My millage hovers around 12 pulling at 65. 20 at 70 empty. You can see the EGT difference rise if you try to run in higher modes. Probably wouldnt as much with exhaust work. Was going to take the muffler off but not sure I want to put up with the rumble.

RE: Free Kindle Books

A lot of Amazon's free books are free for a very short time--sometimes as little as a couple of hours. And some stay free for weeks. Sometimes when they're no longer free for everyone they're still free for Prime members. You just have to make sure before you "one click."
Chopper Bill, you can return an e-book to Amazon and get your money back. I believe you have a seven day return period.
I applied for a credit about an hour ago. Going to issue me a credit. Good to do "business" with understanding Company's. Next time I will do a little more research on free stuff. :B

RE: Free Kindle Books

It says:
Prime Members: $0.00 (read for free)
That is the prime lending library that I mentioned. If you are a Prime member you can borrow some books, one at a time, for up to a month. You do not get to keep the book. If you check the book back in before the month is up, then you can borrow another.
Yes I realize that NOW. Like I said I was warning others that may make the same mistake. I have never ordered anything that the the final purchase didn't say CONFIRM, another warning. I'll say it a gain MY BAD.

RE: Free Kindle Books

You waited too long. Prime membership has nothing to do with it. After the freebies are given away the price reverts to the full price. Prime members can -borrow- the book afterwards for one month.
Add stated $0.00 for Prime members and still does. So Prime member does have something to do with it. Just warning others. Like I said my bad it wont happen again.

RE: Free Kindle Books

Just got nailed for $2.99. Offer said for Prime members. Figured I was because I got free books before. Followed along the order figuring it would want to ask to finalize the order and then check for sure. No such luck it gobbled up my $2.99 on the first button before I knew what hit me. Book is barely worth free let alone $2.99. My bad, it wont happen again.

RE: K&N Air Intake

I have a part time ATV service/repair business. When ever one comes in with a K&N I pull it off and show them the fine dust in the intake tube between the filter and the carb/throttle body. 100% of the time they say to take it off and install the OEM filter.
Does this matter if the throttle body gets cleaned periodically? Just asking b/c my mechanic cleans my throttle body and MAF about twice per year.
I'm at that point where it's easier to keep it an try to get some cost back out of it, but if having one is going to potentially cause issues, I'll go back to the OEM in a heartbeat. I'll probably run this by my service team to be sure.
Dirt's getting past the TB and into the motor. If you are riding in dirt run, dont walk to your dealer and get the OEM pleated paper filter. You shouldn't have to clean the TB twice a year. Matter of fact I have never cleaned any of ours at all except a RZR I bought used that had dirt in it from, you guessed it from having on an after market filter.
