RE: Roof Top Exhaust Fan not working

Good info so far. Contact Fantastic Fan. Best customer service in the world IMO. They will help with diagnosis and send any parts at no cost. Will do this for the life of the unit.

RE: Good Sam Roadside or CAA+

TheTexan: Yes. After I got home I spent over an hour on the phone with various people, . No I didn't speak to a VP but I did climb the corporate ladder. Everyone apologized and said they were sorry and would look into it. That's fine as far as it goes but my concern is about the level of service when really needed, not getting apologies after the fact. The reality is, the problems should have been fixed when I was stranded on the side of the road. They weren't. When stranded I need an expected level of service NOW, not an apology later. BTW I don't appreciate your comments in the last paragraph and in bold. I did my best to apprise this forum of a situation that happened to me and I didn't expect to get flamed for it. If everyone took your approach no one would bother to report their experiences for fear of getting blasted by your type of attitude. This would in turn negate a valuable part of this forum.IMO, it should NOT have been brought to the board until you had a "satisfactory answer or were unable to get any satisfaction" and then we would have the whole story, not just the beginning and a slam on any company. I would have said the same thing if it had been about GS ERS or about any RV manufacturer. I know for a fact that CN will follow up and you will get satisfaction, but they are NOT on the road with you to see what happened, so it does take some work on your part to make them aware of the poor service. Bad mouthing them here does NOT give them any feedback. Sorry if you don't like it, but that is the way the world turns. I guess we will have to agree to disagree as to when to post or not post. If you read my original statement & my response to you you will see i did try to get answers and make them aware of their shortcomings. as for getting satisfaction that has to come on the road when I'm stranded and need them. for your peace of mind I will email the VP and post his response.

RE: Good Sam Roadside or CAA+

I have Coach-Net and have used it twice in Canada (just on my car) and it has been great both times. The policy I have will tow my vehicle and trailer if I have a problem. Brian Had major problems in Albuquerque and called Coach-net. Service in the past has been exceptional but this time was a disaster. The wrecker was undersized, The agent was poorly trained and phoned back at least 4 times for further info. The service took nearly an hour. (I found out no tow company was willing to do the job for what coach-net would pay and they ended up sending what they could find.) And the list goes on. Two days later had further problems outside of Dodge. Was going to need a tow back to Dodge (signature rig). They sent out a 1 ton flat deck. The driver had no idea what to do but was going to try chaining the front wheels of the truck to the tilted flat deck. I phoned Coach-net and explained what was going on. They were at a loss as to what to do because "we already dispatched one truck". After much negotiation and talking to supervisors they agreed to have the tow driver drive me to a small Ford dealer where I purchased an alternator and put it on myself on the side of a busy highway. The level of service has really gone down hill since Coach-Net was bought out and moved form Lake Havasu. I have been praising Coach-Net for years but back to back failures has me looking for something else.

RE: Suburban water heater repair

And also....make sure you get the right wattage element.....they come in all different watts and lengths. And voltage. As stated everything can be purchased at HD or Lowes. Don't buy from a RV dealer unless you enjoy spending way to much.

RE: Slow propane leak

A propane sniffer is the way to go. I have also used windex for finding leaks. Bubbles up but evaporates of to leave no residue.

RE: Route 66

We did the stretch from Seligman to Kingman in 2009; this is a nice stretch of road. Two great museums in Kingman on Andy Devine Blvd. Lots to do with the history of the area and Route 66. Visit both places for the price of one. Make sure you eat at Mr. D's across the street. Great food and awesome homemade root-beer.

RE: Medical Travel insurance for Canadians?

Make sure that the actual Insurance company is NOT Manulife. They are not "clever". Almost fraudulent! As these insurance companies are getting more claims they look for ways to avoid paying. Moisheh Sorry about your experience. Medipac is underwritten by them and we had nothing but a great experience with them. they made the whole claims process stress free and minimized our inconvenience. They even called customs at the border crossing I used to explain why I was traveling without my wife (she was air ambulanced home)I was practically prescreened into Canada. I have been with them ever since.

RE: Medical Travel insurance for Canadians?

We had cause to use them a few years ago. They were fabulous to deal with. Be sure to answer all the questions truthfully because they do check in the event of a claim.

RE: Over extended piston rods - help please !

Don't know where you are in AZ but here in Yuma all the RV Parts people carry replacements. The Automotive type will not work. Way to much pressure for a bed application.

RE: shaw direct - what dish?

This is sort of off topic but my sister in law has a place down south of Apache Junction AZ. She has the Shaw Direct or Star Choice antenna. Her LNB failed and she cannot pick up any signal. Does anyone know if there is a company in the Phoenix area who would have a compatible LNB? Her's is the stationary type dish mount not the automatic motorized one. Any ideas? Surely the LNB's used by Shaw cannot be unique. Lloyd Here in Yuma Satellite Relay advertises Shaw direct dishes. Give them a call at 928 314-3157. They may be able to point you in the right direction.

RE: Win 7 upgrade issue

Its pretty easy to replace the graphics card in a desk top PC. May be your only option if HP doesn't offer Windows 7 drivers for it. HP zv5000 is a laptop.

RE: Win 7 upgrade issue

I haven't and probably won't upgrade from XP to 7, but Microsoft says you can do it. Microsoft XP to 7 upgrade This is not a true Windows upgrade. It is a clean install of Windows 7 which requires you to re-install all your programs that you want to continue to use. You need to make copies of all your files and settings from Windows XP, then transfer them to Windows 7. The only way to possibly do an upgrade to Windows 7, is to first upgrade to Windows Vista, then to Windows 7. yes I did a clean install and reinstalled my programs. All is well except for the graphic acceleration issue. Some graphic programs work really slow, eg the card games that come with win 7. My graphics accelerator is not fully compatible with win 7 and directx 9 will not work with my graphics card. is there some software that will help with this compatibility issue? I downloaded DirectX 9 but will not install due to these compatibility issues.

RE: Tracfone LG420G

You have to have the numbers in contacts before you can set a speed dial. After setting them up in contacts go to: Menu - contacts - Speed dials. You will be shown a bunch of squares with numbers in them. Using the circle around the centre button toggle to the one you want. Click the center button (Add) after you highlighted the one you want. toggle through your contacts until the one you want is highlighted and hit your enter button. the contact will be added to that speed dial button. Failing that find a 12 year old and have them do it.:D hope this helps

Win 7 upgrade issue

Upgraded my HP Pavilion ZV5000 from XP to Win7. All is well except having issues with my hardware acceleration. Issues involving DirectX. it requires 9 instead of earlier versions. Is there a software workaround for this problem? I tried loading directx 9 in XP sp3 mode but no luck. Any help would be appreciated.

RE: Honda eu2000 hard to start, any ideas?

Had the same issues when cold. Switched to 5W30 oil and no more problems. The heavier oil was fooling the low oil sensor into thinking there was no, or low oil.

RE: Good Food in Yuma?????

Isn't there a Cracker Barrel in Yuma? We don't have them here and I am looking forward to going there soon! Off 16th Behind the Marriot. Good food but always busy. Across the street is Penny's Diner. Good food. Best in town for Mexican is La Fonda as has already been stated.
